I had a lot of fun in the 21 as well. Its fun to fly and fight. I have noticed that lately, it hasn’t kept pace with updates to DCS, mainly in 2.2. Some definite lighting/visual bugs showing through.

The only real vice to the Fishbed is having to watch vertical speed for landing. But, fly it by the numbers like any jet, and she’s tame as can be.

actualy never did that all I care about is the airspeed and to put it on the runway as gentle as possible.

I can’t do a crosswind landing (perpendicularly) with 6 m/s. Landing gears will always be crippled, crashed or damaged.
Are MiG21 landing gears this weak ?
I did touch down with 300-320 IAS, <5m/s descending, flared and kicked the rudder to line up the plane seconds before runway contact. I failed most of the attemps althought I do 100% success in normal condition.
Any advise ?

wooow you guys touch down at 320kph?? minimum i touch is 360kph, but i prefer closer to 380kph… with 50-100% thrust… flaps all the way down…
don’t think it matters all that much as long as you control your decent rate well and the runway’s long enough…

You guys are crazy! I flare at 500km’h and touchdown at ~380km’h, cut power (to shutdown the blown flaps), nose up to bleed airspeed until nose comes down, parachute, brakes, and done.
I never busted my landing gear in 40 recorded flights.

Lol, you all are crazy! My approach is just above mach 1 full after burners, my flaps and speed brakes fully extended until ripped off, I touch down subsonic and after the tires shred the rims dig into the asphalt slowing me down. By the end of the runway I’ve worn through the gear struts and am sitting on the fuselage as I continue through the fields and into any neighboring Towns. The mechanics are usually angry with me but hey, I don’t stall on the approach.
