I’m not saying that it’s any different at all. But I am saying it’s not something I understand.
Its all relative isn’t it. I look at the stupid rubbish that captures my kids attention and it really winds me up. Then I remember that we had bloody ‘rainbow’ growing up…

Some of it is also the work culture you deal with. As an LEO I don’t register profanity, both listening and speaking. For a while we kept tabs on who in the office used the f word the most (measured in FPM’s) until we realized we had mostly replaced other filler words (uh, umm, like, etc) with it. If it’s in an inappropriate context, it can be jarring, but in a gamer stream I’d probably be more bothered by a poor usage of it. Also I have no children, so that’s not a concern for me and the wife.

I generally don’t care though I’ve viewed some streams where it was so excessive I changed off them. But I can’t really watch them with the kids around either, it’s a little annoying. But most of my twitch watching happens when they’re in bed so it doesn’t matter much right now.
I actually cut down on YouTube channels exactly for that reason.
Few that remain are Phlydaily when it comes to War Thunder and other milsims, IcarusLives for DooM mods (yup, the first doom), and WorthABuy for reviews on new games.
Mack (WorthABuy) did recently cut down a lot on cussing- he was a bit edgy before.
ugh phlydaily. I loathe that guy. I have tried to watch his
a couple times because the content seemed to be mildly interesting to me. But what a hysterical douche.
My favourite youtube gaming channel is themightyjingles. An elder ex-navy guy playing world of warships and having a hearty laugh at all the stupid in it. He’s my preferred companion while I do the dishes.
It’s not that profanity in itself is a turn-off for me. Heck, I am a great fan of crash laobi who curses up a storm. But he’s funny with it, witty. It makes sense to me.

The Hangar200 Theorem © states that the effectiveness (or impact) of an expletive is reduced by the inverse square of the number of times the expletive is used.
For example:
a) The HB F-14 is F-Word-ing great! = 1/(1 squared) = 1. Thus the HB F-14 is in fact Great.
b) The F-Word-ing F-14 isF-Word-ing great! = 1/(2 squared) =¼ = The HB F-14 is good but…
c) The F-Word-ing F-14 by F-Word-ing HB is F-Word-ing great! = 1/9 = The HB F-14 is only OK, is plagued by many bugs and was released late.
…and so on.
Of note, in a not-so-strange coincidence, the inverse square ratio is the same formula to describe the decrease in the force of gravity as one moves away from a mass’s center of gravity…I would have copyrighted that formula too, but Sir Isaac Newton claims to have already posted it on the ED Forum…
