I’m not sure I’m emotionally ready for a mod that goes over the top of two other mods. Version hell. ![]()
Does it help if you know that the guy who created the mod is on the FBW team? ![]()
Ok, let’s do this:
It’s a pretty plane, plus another Airbus, so all the knobs are in the right place.
Hmm, still some baking required. Turned off the AP on approach and the ailerons don’t seem to work! Made for an exciting arrival into KSEA ![]()
C’mon, you still have got the rudder ![]()
Which reminds me of the following story I experienced in Il2 Battle of Moscow (sorry for the derailment!):
I was in the middle of my winter Moscow career flying the “Rata” I-16. It is a very agile fighter but not excessively fast so to speak. Fun to fly nevertheless…
In the heat of the battle I dived after one BF109 (yeah, silly me) and when having realized there was no way to catch it, I pulled up to get out of the dive…
…and the world went all black…
…and when I came back to my senses I got a feeling that the Rata handled somewhat differently. Look left, look right - ailerons were gone!
My first thought was to bail out.
My second thought was:
- the thing still flies
- the opponent is nowhere to be seen
- I am over hostile territory
- and I still got the rudder!
So I decided to take the wounded Rata back to base. It was a memorable flight and I actually landed just fine, though I was a bit worried about the handling once with the gear down and slow speed. I have to say I was never soooo concentrated in a sim when doing this approach and landing. All turned fine in the end but I think I got lucky there too.
So @fearlessfrog, did you make it in the end? ![]()
Did you ask permission from the dog to do that? I mean…c’mon…
I did, but it was more a combination that I was already established and that the damage model is pretty poor so far :). I was leaning left / right like a loon though, as my stick inputs were ignored.

I tried to engage the CAT-III Autoland with the second autopilot, so I wouldn’t be bothered at all, but it didn’t engage. It was really annoying, as I wanted to finish playing a game I had on another screen and was really enjoying it. ![]()
The A32NX and this mod ‘combo’ is pretty weird. The systems come from the FBW but the model and aircraft info come up as a A330. The V1/V2 speed were all wrong, and I couldn’t put in a ZFW that would work. It was really nice to play with a big toy, but I think I’ll come back to it when updated a bit more, at at least just run a single mod on the Airbus at a time.
You are officially ready to join the ranks of real pilots. You have the right skills in the mindset department for sure… ![]()
Nice! I saw on their FB page that they are aiming to release it on the 5th…which is Friday! If so I will be able to fly it a bit before I head out on the road for two weeks. Real flying can certainly get in the way of my simulation hobby sometimes…
. Looks like I will miss the release of the CRJ and the T45 while I am away.
SPITFIRE PREVIEW
REAL AIRBUS PILOT: it certainly doesnt fly like Airbus! ![]()
LOL, I am sick of those ‘REAL GUYS’ ![]()
For me, this one is a bit controversial. I mentioned in a previous post that I was ambivalent about full airport interiors.
Now we have moving people…
What next, and at what cost? Why, when somebody asks about visible aircraft damage do so many yell about “resources” but the resources required for this sort of stuff gets a complacent pass…?
The Flying Iron Spitfire Mk9 is out! $35 AUD which is about $26 USD. At the moment you have to buy it directly from their site, but it will be available at the usual outlets in the coming weeks.
Downloading now. I’ll add some screenshots once I get it up and running.
Very keen to know your thoughts on this one Paul. This could be the one that gets me to attempt a 2nd reinstall of MSFS.
Annoyed? why do again and again and again the same aircraft that others already did/do, so if they became annoyed is only if they are naif, no?
Looking forward to the pics Paul.
I think I’ll get this one, but might wait till it comes out on the Store. I’m terrible for keeping things up-to-date and patched, so the least number of sites to visit the better for MSFS.
Even though I like Carenado’s panel more, I will wait for the JustFlight one.
Once Carenado releases the Navajo, I’ll snap it right away ![]()
A Bush Trip generator thingy, for making MSFS bush trip format ‘missions’. Not 100% sure what it does. ![]()

It looks useful when full runways aren’t your thing. Maybe a useful thing for @BeachAV8R and the jungle?
