No. Being in any way closer to when the snow will begin to fall makes me unhappy… My dog is ecstatic, though!
The Spruce Goose should be fun although I would have preferred a Boeing 314. The Grumman Goose seems a bit redundant seeing as we already have an excellent, and reasonably priced payware Goose by Big Radials. Free is free though.
The Spirit of St Louis will be a fun challenge. I wonder how many people will only be landing that using external view?
Hey everyone beware. Concerning the Blackbird Simulations 30% off code, at no time during my purchase of the 310 this morning was I given the opportunity to enter the code. I used PayPal and expected to be returned to the site in order to enter the code, but the buy completed and I was never returned to the site. I’ve sent MilViz an email.
Of course I hold @Deacon211 and @Navynuke99 financially responsible for my situation
That sounds like pilot error!
Sorry about that @chipwich. I’ve actually had the exact same issue using PP on other sites. It’s like it breaks the flow of the transaction somehow.
good to know, I resisted was there, saw the added 20% EU VAT and canceled, didnt see the discount field in the process either btw
Ugh. Sorry to hear that Dan. Hopefully they will help you out.
The sale seems to be across all the store sites, so I picked it up through OrbX.
No worries guys. Apparently, I had my usual poor SA. Five clicks in, but it was there. Unfortunately, they will not offer a refund.
Seriously?
What kind of crap is that? It’s not your fault that their discount system is bypassed by PP.
Now, I feel bad about ribbing you. I just assumed that this was going to be a no brainer on their part.
No worries. It was my fault.
But if it were my customer, I’d offer a refund and let them buy it again. Minimal to no expense for a positive review. Now, I’m not so inclined.
That’s it!
OK, well this was supposed to be a Mad Max “Embargo On” meme. Now if the Censored Censored would Censored my Censored Censored Censored, then you could actually Censored see that!
Not sure why mine isn’t showing up either. But I get your meaning!
Anyone have any opinions on the Trislander? I’m having a bit of a toss up between it and the C-310. Two completely different AC I know.
I don’t have the Trislander. I do have the Islander though, and it is pretty good. They just gave it a pretty big update as well, so the author is active supporting their product.
The 310, after just a short time with it, is very well done, with some very nice features…lots of options for doors, luggage, covers etc. You also have three different ways to approach the airplane. Default is just like any other aircraft where you spawn in and all the switches and levers are at a default cold and dark position. Rented adds a random element where you have to scan the cockpit and make sure all the switches are where they should be (because the guy or gal before you didn’t finish up their checklist properly)… and Owned, where the airplane is as you previously left it. Also it has dynamic weathering…it gets dirtier the more you fly it. There is also an option to wash off the dirt. I’m sure I am missing some features here, but you get the idea.
So, the 310 is pretty impressive as MSFS airplanes go. The Trislander, I’m guessing, based on the Islander, will be pretty solid and a whole lot uglier!
It’s a pity that MilViz/Blackbird won’t do the honorable thing with Dan. I won’t be buying directly from them anymore. They make a great product but that is #### poor customer service IMHO.
Yeah these guys are really shooting themselves in the foot.
The 30% sale was why i was considering the 310, reading about their lack of CS is leading me away from it.
I can’t see the image- what did it say?
Also, they’re a very small shop from what I understand- who did you speak with on that?
Hey, FWIW I posted on Blackbird Sim’s support forum without mentioning any names, except my own.
I basically said that their stuff is very nice. But offering, then essentially not honoring, a sale price due to PP doesn’t read like good customer service and they are better than that.
It’s too early to pass judgement I think, but the post was removed within about 2 hours. I’ve heard nothing further.
I hope I didn’t overstep my bounds, but it seemed like they deserved to know that those kind of choices don’t generally put the best face on a company…especially with their rebranding.
I would have preferred an e-mail. But apparently we live in the age where direct contact is actively discouraged.
I think you did well wording it that way. Any company that turns down helpful comments like that can stick it.
Hope they read this as well.
