And it ditches like a dream!

I was considering the F-104 or the MiG-21. Ended up getting the MiG. Cockpit looks great but there is no checklist included in the documentation and the in-game checklist consists of only a very few items to fire the thing up :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

But I have not flown it yet so I give it the benefit of the doubt :grinning:

Btw. regarding the F-104… would you recommend the single seat or the familly version?

how about DCS MiG21 docs?

missed the sale by few hours, I am always slow with these things. never mind, Ant’s Tiger Moth wasnt on sale anyway

Both the Starfighters are excellent. It really comes down to which ever one you like the look of. I prefer the single seater myself and probably wouldn’t have purchased the trainer if they had released the that one first. Smart marketing I guess.

Same here.

When I finally decided that I would probably buy one plane in this sale after all, it was over. Lucky me, I have enough planes anyway.

I got F-117 from Aerial Simulations. It’s pretty well done. I wish we get some proper modern F-19/F-117 Stealth Fighter remake…

And some shots from made-up North Cape Cold War recon mission over Murmansk

And a tribute to a classic:

The docs are detailed and exist many tutorials of it on youtube. About F104 they are also great but radar required an external app. I recommend you buy them outside marketplace because the apps, weapons etc. The biggest desilusion on F104 is that it could have HUD working. Also few time ago it have some issues about supersonic flight and an incompatibility with connie smoke effects.
I not yet tested the last updates if all were addressed of not.
Solo vs 2 seats version. If you like F104, get both, they are pretty cool, mainly are equal, what is big difference are performance and liveries.
But all after all, F104 and MiG21 are both the best military fighters for msfs.

The two last screenshots are awsome :+1:

Yep, thought about it too. I got the DCS MiG-21 lined up after flying the heck out of the MiG-19 but other things got in the way.

Thanks all for tips re the F-104. I will (most likely) resist this time.

The DeHavilland DHC-2 Beaver was released for Microsoft Flight Simulator during the 40th Anniversary Update. This aircraft was probably my favorite addition to the simulator, however, it was lacking some visual effects, camera settings, weight dynamics, and bush modifications. I originally began my journey by just adding 35" Bush Wheels to her. After reading some forum posts, I quickly started spiraling down the rabbit-hole. This modification was originally meant to be my personal modifications, but I had some interest within the community to release it to the public. I hope you like the new features and fixed modifications, any suggestions are welcome.

IMPROVEMENT MODIFICATIONS (Version 1.0.1.):
  • Added 35" Bush Wheel Bone Animation Compatibility with Original Gear
    • Now your tires and gear will react appropriately to Weight and Compression when landing.
IMPROVEMENT MODIFICATIONS (Version 1.0.0.):
  • Added New Bush Variant: DHC-2 Beaver 35" Bush Wheels

    • Ability to Select Any “Base” Game Livery
    • Compatibility with Future Liveries if the Artist(s) add it to their Folder Layout.
  • Added New Water Effect: Amphibious Water Spray

    • Working on Improving these for the Next Update!
  • Added New Start-Up Effect: Start-Up Combustion Burst

  • Added Hide Feature: Hide Tablet (Use On/Off Tablet Button)

  • Added Hide/Unhide Feature: Hide/Unhide Tablet (Use Alternator Warning Lamp Test)

    • Will Find Better Clickable in the Future!
  • Fixed Camera Feature: Quickview Cameras (Left, Right, Up, Down, Rear)

  • Fixed Flight Dynamics: Elevator Authority Modified (Feels Slightly Heavier)

CREDITS:
  • Jonx: Project Management, XML Modifications, GLTF Merging, Animations, .CFG Modifications
  • Mykrode: 35" Bush Wheels 3D Model
  • Twoseventyinc: 35" Bush Wheels Paint

Another nice video from a former RAF pilot.

What does a typical Basic Fast Jet Training low level sortie look like? How do you navigate the North York Moors at 250ft and 300kt. What’s the (IRIS) PC-21 like? Ride along with a real-world turboprop instructor as he tours the North York Moors in the PC-21 and talks about famous landmarks, real world techniques and considerations.

Normally, I try to keep my civi flight sim install as clean as possible. But this 40th Anniversary Expansion Pack from GotFriends is worthy of a little extra mod management. It began life as a Beaver bush wheel kit and now includes enhancements for the DC-3.

The fact that it appears to be working for the vast majority, might indicate that the issue is machine specific.
