If you’re looking for something a little different, the excellent Pemberton Airport freeware on flightsim.to reflects that Pemberton is home to aircraft of all scales…
“Pemberton Airport is a rural airport of a bygone era, located in southern New Jersey. A grass strip with a pretty challenging takeoff is part of the charm. The annual Burlington County Remote Control Modelling Club show is an event that attracts many people.”
From Odiham, we are going to head down to Seaton, Devon which was the previous home of @Victork2 's Humvee. Strangely enough, Seaton was just down the road from where I lived for most of my teenage years, so I am very familiar with the area.
Off to our left we can see Southampton.
The route took me right past Compton Abbas airfield, so I had to make a ‘high speed pass’ along the runway…
Flying along the Jurrasic Coast, just east of Lyme Regis, Dorset.
Passing Lyme Regis, I cut inland a little…
Seaton directly ahead.
Humvee in sight, conveniently parked in a field at the location @Victork2 gave me for the pickup.
Easy does it.
All hooked up. Time to get this gas guzzler to Oxfordshire…and I’m not talking about the Chinook…
It was a picturesque route that took me to many familiar places… this is RNAS Yeovilton in Somerset.
Eventually RAF Brize Norton came into view… which means we are close to our destination.
The GPS says this is the right place…and I can see the drop off point…
Gently does it…
She’s all yours Ace!
Heading back to Odiham which doesn’t take long, even at helicopter speeds.
Home again…
Evidently I park Chinooks just about as straight as I park my car… but it’s within the lines, so I’ll take it.
Mission accomplished @PaulRix. Payment has been wired to your account and we at "crazy ace’s retired warhorses’ thank you for your diligence.
One thing, the exact location you dropped it has a war memorial for WW1 in front of it and a bench directly underneath it. You have been deducted the cost of the bench
Went up at cruise setting that time. The first time from Biggin Hill I didn’t and either missed the time limit or temps because the engine blew with smoke.
Touring U.S.
The Denarq mod does make the Twin Beech feel alive and after some issues with the engines (first carb icing and then overheating the cylinders) I feel accomplishment after each flight which I am able to make to the intended destination
