Took my first flight in Heavy Metal, from passenger view it truly looked life-like in motion.
Notice the icing on wings and fuselage.

Well, the SimBox was built with VR in mind…
I know, but it is my duty to give you a hard time.
Some random shots from today…
Hopping over from Rocky Mountain Metro (KBJC) to Aspen (KASE)…
Down we go…
Early morning cloud surfing in the TBM, somewhere over Greenland.
Those UK shots look like photos - I know Dorchester quite well, and the textures look really realistic. I wonder when the first neolithic site is going to be discovered in the sim?
How does pearl harbor look? I was always trying to get a good looking version of that in FSX, but was never happy with it (MS Flight actually had it pretty well done…)
The graphics on this sim are mind blowing most of the time…and so fluid.
@malibu43, I’ll take a flight and post some shots in a bit. I was hoping to see some points of interest, such as the USS Arizona memorial, and maybe even the submerged hull, but unfortunately it isn’t there.
Here you go.
At a distance it looks pretty good…but the ships are all just part of the Bing imagery. You can see the outline of the USS Missouri, and the Arizona (and memorial) are not shown.
The Bing map showing Battleship Row…
And MSFS2020
Looking across towards Honolulu.
So, pretty good to fly over , but not great for sight seeing.
Thanks! Agree. Looks good overall, but missing some POI that I would expect to see…
Burbank has been a regular stop for me in my flying career, having flown there in Part 135, 121 and now 91. My current flight department is HQ’d there. So, it was an automatic buy!
The default terminal looked like a huge shopping mall. Orbx did a great job with the detail.
This VIP 757, N770BB, is based at BUR. (But doesn’t park at Atlantic.)
One of those numbered hangars is my flight department HQ.
An attempt at a recreation of pic I took when I flew the E175 (2nd pic down)
How could I forget the Burbank EMAS (engineered materials arrestor system). It’s also spot on. When PMDG releases their B737, slap on the SWA livery and giver her a go!
Bing maps: You can see where the SWA airplane came to a rest.
What happened there?
SWA278, December 2018. Runway overrun while landing on runway 8. Heavy rain, possible tailwind conditions, may have touched down faster than required. The runway isn’t exactly the longest. The airplane slid off, but the EMAS helped slow them. Everyone survived.
I just figured Southwest was taxiing at their normal taxi speed and missed a turn…
I’ll be honest- I could live without another MS Flight Sim, if it wasn’t for the Weather System.
I am absolutely blown away at how impossibly cool it looks.
Like, wow.
Yes, the ground texture are awesome and the cities never looked beeter but… the weather?!
JFC, absolutely unbelievable…
I was flying with @Fridge last night and told him I’d totally buy an Animals DLC…a package that puts animals throughout the world in their accurate environments.
Well…you get the idea…
I would like to add Godzilla decimating some city in Japan.
