MSFS - Screenshots

And that thing from Cloverfield walking through NYC…

I’m not saying it was aliens… but it was aliens.

Well hey, at least the shadow is correct. :man_shrugging:

Strike Eagle 3 docet.

Would love to see it in MSFS2020 graphics though.

Some shots from a flight down the French coast from Nice to Du Castellet (next to Circuit Paul Ricard) with two mates, just after dawn. The lighting (oh my).

This after finally solving the framerate problem - I could even run clouds on Ultra!

Here is a nice cloud shot:

I also just finished a flight from Friedrichshafen (EDNY) to Venice (LIPV)
Here are some shots:

Shortly after takeoff from Friedrichshafen

Bregenz, Austria.

Flying into the alps.
The weather radar is cool, it helped me place myself right between those cloud layers.

Trento, Italy:

Landed at Venice. Really nice.

Gosh darn it if it ain’t friggin’ glorious…

Took a flight to Riga just now, when descending through a thick cloud layer from angels 30+ I saw this.

Looks like a major weather front is coming.

Looks like if I arrived 30 minutes later I would probably be landing in IMC.

Taxiing to parking. Looks threatening.

Last look at weather radar before shutting down the jet. (Would it work on the ground though?)

Few more shots from other flights:

Germany

US, Arizona

Azarbaijan

South Korea

Belgium (you can recognize the track)

East Timor

Stunning shots everyone! I have to admit that even though X-Plane has the better flight model, a lot more aircraft, helicopters, VR and other plugins (even celestial navigation  ), I have not been able to drag myself away from MSFS since it’s release mainly because of the visuals. I don’t think it is the terrain that has grabbed me because we are very close to that with OrbX TE or ortho and custom overlays in the areas I usually am interested in, but the atmospherics and lighting are so captivating. This is, I think, what XEnviro was trying to achieve in X-Plane, but MSFS have had the advantage of being able to program it into the base product and added several bells and whistles at the same time.

I attempted a flight in the Robin from Zel Am See to Innsbruck. The weather was a bit iffy, and the Robin isn’t exactly a star performer. I knew it was going to involve some scud-running but it was amazing to see the low cloud in the valley ahead of me, the increasing tension as the visibility dropped and then the realization that I didn’t have to performance to climb out of the valley quickly enough or the space to turn around and then the valley floor rose up and I was suddenly in the trees. Of course, in real life I would never have tried that flight VFR in a Robin with those weather conditions, but it was very neat to see the chain of events that led to me ending up in the trees.

You should try the … Creek in Idaho! Especially exciting in the Robin as it takes a lot to climb out!

It’s one of the show-off locations that is normally in the list.

Awww… FS2020 just crashed on me while activating an arrival procedure (I was flying from EDSB to Cologne-Bonn, EDDK) in the TBM.
Still had some fun flying in bad weather.

I have heard of others having that problem. Hopefully they will have addressed it in the forthcoming patch.

Most planes have a squat switch to turn the radar off on the ground. Usually there is a “force override” button that will allow you to make it turn on though. Pilots will sometimes use this function after they’ve lined up into position on the runway to assess which way to turn in case of a storm cell being right off the end of the runway.

Force override in our planes is enabled by hitting STAB five times in quick succession or by hitting the UP and DOWN radar range arrows simultaneously.

Kind of like a PlayStation Controller combination hack  .

I need the hack that makes the King Air go 400 knots.

Did a little flight from Gibraltar (LXGB) along the north African coast to Oran, Algeria (DAOO) in the Citation Longitude.
Awesome.

And yes this approach is a little bit steep. Fighter pilot style, 10,000 ft/min.
I wanted to test how well those speedbrakes work. Pretty well, as it turned out.

I keep saying it…that is a good looking airplane. Shame the panel is so blah…

To me the most annoying thing about it is that it is made for two pilots, so some of the controls are in hard to reach spot.
I had an embarrassingly long search for the anti-ice buttons today…
