I would get my first load delivered Sooooo quickly… not so much the 2nd…
I blame Lockmart and NAVAIR. Lockmart because they feel the J has the performance to match a JATO take off conventionally, and NAVAIR because they are cheap bastards and didnt want to buy more JATO’s. Kinda like how they bought a used J that is of a different configuration than the USMC fleet to save money, but will probably spend more on it in the long run when they have to go outside the normal supply chain for parts because something broke that isnt compatible with the normal KC-130’s.
Aren’t Marines like…super resourceful? Can’t they infiltrate a base and just steal the -J parts from some other place. The Canadians probably don’t even lock their doors.
Shhh…!!! No one is supposed to know we “Tactically Acquire” stuff from them when we them visit, especially the USAF!
Came across this video yesterday. Interesting view of the modernized F-15C cockpit. You’ll also noticed a simulation they use to show different things.
Not a video but whatevs. @Victork2, this ones’ for you mate, I know you like 'em large and curvy, but I bet you haven’t seen this kink before!
That. Is. AWESOME
Uh…
Why though?
I can only imagine dry contacts for training.
I’m going to get that picture framed. Its brilliant
Sheer bloody-minded perversion if you ask me. Pub bet gone horribly awry.
Nice, detailed walk around and cockpit tour of the A-10C…
I’m triggered by him using his fingers to actually touch all the glass dials in the cockpit though…argh!
NATO because it belongs to us… Mock up of Chinese J-20 spotted at MCAS AF Bogue here in North Carolina…
Are we certain that’s a mockup? Might be some red eagles kind of thing? Nah, unlikely they’d let it out in the open like that.
Thank you China for fielding an airplane that makes the F-35 seem just a little less ugly. o7
Ha, yes! I sometimes wonder, despite what all the documentaries say, that they made the decision the moment they laid eyes on them both, “…I’ll take the pretty one”.
M-346 LFFA first flight…I’m a weirdo, so I think that is a pretty good looking aircraft…
I agree. I like the Boeing trainer too. (Too lazy to look up the name.) No surprise that the Boeing kit evokes the Hornet. Well at least the tail does. The Leonardo trainer—again no surprise—has a big single tail that feels like an homage to the Tornado. Both look like blasts to fly.
Look up the russian trainer, the Як-130. The resemblance is beyond uncanny.
Of course that’s no coincidence. Yakovlev and Leonardo co-developed their trainers for quite a while in the early 2000s.
