Need to replace gforce RTX 3090 Vid card

Currently I believe I have to replace my Geforce 3090 video card as at times the colors go to a dull yellow. The vibrant colors don’t come back, but will come back for a while then go back to the dull yellow.

My current system is I9 10900 k, CPU 3.70 GHz, with 64GB

The most tasking item I run is DCS, so if I have a system that can run this fully I should be able tor run other games (such as IL2, Falcon BMS (latest version) Train Simulator and so on).

What card do you guys recommend as I don’t really want to buy another gaming computer. ( I can’t build it).

]Should I change any other components.

You should start with reseatingit and the mk itors ca les and or test it with another monitor.

I think what our esteemed friend is trying to say is: reseating it and the monitor cables…?

You could also try updating the GPU drivers, if you haven’t done so in a while.
Also, are you using HDMI or Display Port to connect with the monitor. Try using the other one, as your GPU most likely supports both.

My fingers are way too thick to be trying to post on a phone. Sorry for that.

as for replacing a 3090… Well you don’t want to downgrade so ah… 5090?

RMA? Is it still under warranty…?

Did you try different cables and or ports?

Sorry @schurem, I couldn’t resist the joke. :slightly_smiling_face:

I guess when just replacing the GPU with a 5090 you would be seriously bottlenecked by the rest of the system. Beside the ridiculous price tag.

A 4080 (Super) or 5070Ti would be a replacement roughly on the same level I suppose

I had what sounds like a similar problem after moving from Win10 to Linux - the OS had a “night mode” which would put an orange/yellow cast over everything and reduce the backlight brightness and that was coming on automatically at set times. I had to disable it in settings.

Didn’t see which OS you were using, but might be worthwhile to check if something similar is happening?
