Man, you guys are swarming Weasy like kids expecting a treat when their parents come home. ![]()
Let him come in, take off his coat, sit in his easy chair with a Yuengling. ![]()

Not likely…lol. I’m a mechanic not a pointy head. ![]()
If I were a weapons guy it might be better (I’m a aircraft maintenance Crew Chief), so without being too techincal…our loadouts during a few of my deployments (AFG and Kuwait) starts with 1150 rnds of HEI or party mix (can’t confirm or deny we used this). Sta 1 was usually empty, unless we new of a radar threat like in Syria, then we’d throw on an ECM pod. Sta 2 rocket pod for rockets or illumination flares, Sta 3 AGM-65 (IR, camera, or laser), Sta 4, 5.,7, 8 mix of LGBs and/or JDAMs, usually 500lb. Sta 6 always empty except for external fuel tank. Sta 9 AGM-65, Sta 10 targeting pod (we still have Litening, active duty USAF has Sniper), Sta 11 usually empty, but two AIM-9s if flying into Syria…lol. Much of this though depends on your mission…this was our load for bad guys in AFG, Iraq, and Syria. Temperature made a difference in what they could carry and take off with. Some days it was so hot we only fueled to 8500-9000lbs (rather than the normal 11,000lbs) just so they could get off the ground. Lots of tanker support over there, and no TERs so that helped. ![]()
Really nice to see you again WK. I smile any time I load up the A-10C in DCS thinking of you. I think there are some hero pics of you out there giving some love to your Hogs out there. Nice to hear you are still doing the Guard thing, I’m sure they appreciate your experience and knowledge that just can’t be learned from a book.
I really appreciate thoughts like that. It makes all that we put into this place worth it. That was always our intent…sip your coffee, read an article (cough…I need to get more of that content out!), and sorta chill out at a slightly slower pace. Glad we are sorta hitting that mark.
Most definitely.
You still have hardware @Weasy? Like HOTAS stuff?
The online community weeps…how else are we gonna carry those 6 Mavericks?
I’m pretty sure people would put them on the wingtips if they could.
You should check out the Deka JF-17 though…I’m in love with the laser guided rocket pods on that thing…
Hey Beach, great to see you!
I don’t have much in the way of controllers anymore. Still pretty much set up for driving and I can move it all aside to play guitar…lol.
As far as TERs, like I said, it depends on the mission type. We use them every day for training with the little BDU-33s on 4 and 8…lol. If you’re not simulating real desert warfare like we’ve been flying for the past 6-7 years then load them bad boys up…lol. The jet can hold and deploy them.
Oh, and in real life the A-10 now carries laser guided rockets over there. Really nice to see footage of a single rocket taking out a taliban dude on a motorcycle…lol.
Welcome!
Howdy boss. ![]()
