Just part of a post from Rock Paper Shotgun based on the developers comments in a twitch feed…
“During the stream, the pair announced that World Updates should be hitting on roughly a 2-3 month schedule, with the USA taking focus sometime later this year.”
Possible loss of keybinds. Most of mine are working fine but some appear to have been unbound, specifically the controls used to slew the view around the cockpit.
Changes to TBM start behavior. It seems to want a higher idle before moving from high-idle over to taxi.
Noticed the control tower disappeared for me at BIRK. To be honest, the one I saw flying in prior to the update looked a little out of place so perhaps that’s part of a fix, but now there’s a complete lack of a tower there.
The WT G3000 mod appears to be not working with this latest update.
as a sight seeing pilot, been disappointed with a few things… Most of the mention/listed points of interest are only half ass done. IE: The Pearl Harbor Memorial is there but nothing around it. No other ships. Not the sub or Battleship. Just the memorial. IE: The SunShine Skyway which I drive over many times a year connects me and my parents. The bridge is there, but not the old bridge that has turned into a long fishing pier. The old bridge was struck my a tanker and collapsed sending cars and a bus into the water below. Killing 35 I believe. Just saying… would of been nice to have completed Scenery for all the listed/added POI.
Well that’s why they’re called points of interest and not areas of interest.
Kidding aside, they are very specific with what they add and it does just seem to be just an object or two (with some exceptions) at the location instead of taking the time to actually finish out the location.
I’ve noticed a lot of these updated landmarks are just textures with no collisions. I performed an “emergency stol landing” with the shock ultra on the front lawn of the Biltmore House near Asheville. To my surprise, the plane landed underneath the updated textures and the pre-existing bing photogrammetry was the surface the aircraft landed on. They added the textures 20ft above the old data.
Totally agree with @Magnum50 on this band-aid of an update.
Ok guys, whatever you do, don’t let Steam check the FS2020 files.
Steam happily deletes the whole game without a warning. 105GB download, here I come.
Seriously, whoever programmed this, F*** YOU!
