I don’t know if folks have seen the announcement, but DarkOne said yesterday that Nexusmods has been sold to a previously undisclosed buyer.
A bit of digging later, and it came out that the new owner is Chosen:

So as a precaution, folks may want to consider downloading and preserving their favorite mods for all their favorite games.

I’d actually pay an undisclosed amount to see one of these tech pricks actually not dress like everyone’s burn out cousin who peaked in high school or like the most stereotypical hipster.
God getting old sucks! This thread is in English but may just as well be Icelandic.
In one way I hope Dark0ne got a good amount of money, we’d all like a return on investment on things we put a lot of time into.
But I can’t see some of the more … special-interest 
… content staying on the site now there’s a corporate owner, and of course there’s a question about how many of the other mods might be suppressed because Other Big Company doesn’t want us modifying the games we paid money for to enjoy on our own PC in our own time.
My biggest disappointment is that my login details and what I’ve downloaded are already probably sold on… we’ll see if the sorts of things Steam and GOG and Epic Games suggest to me change suddenly 
Afraid of the 18+ section on Steam starting to slide into your reccomends? 
Fortunately there’s an option to exclude those results 
Ya’ know, sometimes when looking on steam to see if there is something interesting and new for me to try and maybe put on my VR Game Demos thread here, I will click on something and it will take my eyes a few seconds to recognize I’m looking at a (perhaps) horse/alien/Kajit and a lady doing something unmentionable…
After blinking a few seconds, I then snicker at my immediate fleeting thought of wondering how many people would die if I posted something like that…
This is after thinking (once more) that this is not your grandads Steam…
