One thing you really should consider is a better head strap. The standard strap gets pretty uncomfortable. There are lots of good options available through Amazon.
Great to see you back!

I had read that a lot so I did order an aftermarket strap, a Kiwi Designs one I think it was called but thanks for the heads up (pun not intended lol) though
One more thing to consider, seeing as you are not near your router (and even if you were), is one of these:
Paired up with Virtual Desktop, it will give you very fluid wireless connection. I found that using Virtual Desktop with this device gave me better results with MSFS2020/24 than I got using the official link cable, but that may have been just down to my system setup.
You have a cable on the way, so I would give that a try first.
As you can see, I am still actively trying to get my fellow Mudspiker’s to part with their hard earned cash.
Thanks lol I’ll keep that in mind after I’ve tried it with a cable. Is this what you use?
Yes, I have been using one for the past 12 months. It works well. I recently went back to a tethered headset and I kind of miss the tangle free aspect of wireless VR.
Just a question on how I launch games that are on my PC. I seem to have managed to add DCS to the launch screen with the VR and that works but I cannot play anything else, like Elite or MSFS 24 etc. I can add them to the VR library but if I launch them within VR it just opens it normally on the monitor and I have no VR access to them. Is there something I’ve misssed? How do you add games so they launch in VR?
MSFS has a keybind to alternate from 2D to VR and back. For further settings, there’s a VR tab in the general section for further settings. (Please note that I fly MSFS 20 so it might be slightly different in 24)
For ED I am not sure but you might also have to toggle VR on somewhere in the game.
I used to just bring up the Windows desktop and launch from there.
Yes! That worked, thanks
Sorted ED out too.
Thinking I’m getting there now lol
hows it going ?
I think it’s starting to make sense lol but I’m not sure how to enable using hands in DCS… Grabbing the mouse or vr controller takes a bit of time (if i can find it blind) so wanted to enable using hands.
Any ideas? What do you do?
i think there is a special option in DCS under VR for hands
I don’t have the optioon in the pulldown for HANDS it just says CONTROLLER or DISABLE. A few other people have this too and no one knows why lol
Are you using steam or standalone dcs ?
Standalone version. I have read that i would need to use an app called Virtual Desktop but then that doesn’t use the link cable so no good for me. Strange how some users have the hands option and some don’t, perhaps tied to another setting?
The sense of speed at low level in DCS is incredible, so good!
I don’t use virtual desktop? Just when you start the link click on the desktop
And open dcs as usual then close the desktop
And it should start as normal from there … and it is damn immersive …
So when you say desktop do you mean the thing inside vr, with the curved grey bar at the bottom with the buttons on? Because i currently launch DCS from that… Should I not? All the games i play with VR are in there.
F1 25 in VR is a game changer too, I’m basically Lando Norris now lol
Yep … that’s the one … I have tried launching dcs from the vr games list and it sometimes crashes out, and I have somehow managed to get two different versions of dcs there, so I find it easier to just go to the desktop and launch it there.
I guess I’ll just use hotas inputs for important things and mouse for anything else not so important.
I’ve cranked the resolution in the headset all the way to the right at 120mhz, is this okay to do or can cause issues?
