Gave it a whirl, I think. Not sure how to tell the correct version was there. I’ll review above inputs…
Used the nVidia App
“Latest” and ‘Perfomance” mode.
I didn’t unlimit my FPS. I guess it looks okay. I haven’t used DLSS in some time. Random observations that may not be relevant (all in VR):
Afghanistan
DCSGrok-generated mission running in the background
Mosly cloudy, dawn (these have, for me, been harder on the gear)
The power lines looked sharper. Think that’s more of a DLAA thing? Perhaps they worked on that too.
Before, when I would do my Kabul Airshow thing it would have the odd stutter, bumping a tiny bit, but enough to notice, off 90hz (my headset limit). So I put FPS max at 85. Rock soliid, more than before as I would still get just the hint of a some ‘hitching’ when looked at my 3/9 line, low and fast over the city.
Clouds looke icky on anything but “Ultimate” (a lot of mushy-peas action on the horizon) but they looked good this time and no drops in FPS. Smooth a s used Yugo salesman.
Now these are setting I’ve tweaked over time.
Low shadows - I swear it seems to be smoother on Low than Flat?
Vis Range: High (I want to see the tracers further away when it’s dark out)
Water medium
LOD, Forest detail and such middle-ish. I can’t see the difference going over ~50% and it does, or has in the past, slowed things down.
Yea, I don’t know if one needs the beta. Maybe one does? I didn’t install it and noticed an improvement over the DLSS 4 I was using up until then. I’ll try the beta and see…
Tick the box and wait. It takes a moment but then you should have a prompt to restart the nvidia app. Confirm and then you should be able to switch to newer DLSS presets
