Ha watching you flying at 103 Knots and the SR71 2200 Knots

LOL…I just saw that on the real time map…SR-71…he must be running late with his Christmas deliveries!

Had to look up the DR part of DRSN = Drifting Snow…LOL…

Arrived alive on my 3-engine transit. Now we are starting to get into some good terrain…with hills and mountains up to 8,000’. Time to get serious about paying attention to minimum sector altitudes and minimum safe altitudes within 100 and 25nm of the airport…

A careful circle to land into the wind…

I’ve been lucky with good ceilings and vis…the flat white terrain could be tough to fly in during certain white-out type conditions…

Gonna unload the eggnog on the runway so I don’t go sliding off down the slippery hill… Also letting a mechanic put the part on that was FedEx’d and will give me my #2 engine back…

Ran into some “thunder snow” on this leg…

Using the asymmetric thrust takeoff technique. On a slippery surface such as snow/ice…if you just jam the three throttles forward, the plane will weathervane into the dead engine. Instead, match the throttles for the opposite side operative engines to provide equal thrust, then, when rudder authority is reached, start rolling the third engine thrust in, countering with more rudder.

Next leg is our hop over the Davis Strait to Greenland!

Hmm…no weather reporting for BGSS (Sisimiut, Greenland)… Gonna have to wing it…nearest METAR is from about 80 miles away and looks pretty good…

Don’t often see too many NDB/DME approaches these days…but BGSF has one…

Looks like a real airport with pavement though…after all these gravel strips…this will be positively luxurious!

Uh…2,621’ of runway though…LOL…I don’t think that is within the limitations of the RJ70… We’ll see what happens though…I’d hate for them to go without eggnog…

Weather is perfect in BGSF - Greenland. Despite my worries, my light weight (only 10,000 lbs of cargo/eggnog) and light on fuel, I only used half of the runway. Nicely sloping runway that requires a bit of an “over” flare in order to setup a slight climb while touching down (lest you break your gear or engines) as I did on one of the previous legs…

Big crowd to pick up the eggnog…it’s going down for real in Sisimiut tonight…! Book your Uber now!

That gal took a whole backpack full of eggnog…

Alrighty…no time to waste. Off to Narsarsuaq Airport (BGBW) to shovel off some more eggnog before we can finally turn northward for our final few legs… Whew…this is a haul…!

I’ve found a way to a polar orbit, but I’m going to have to break some rules and launch over populated areas. Spreading the Mudspike Seasonal Cheer is how I think of it - either that or the SRBs exhaust pure egg-nog.

Plus the landing facility at the pole might not be equipped fully for this type.

Running out of time figuring out this MFD though… Might not make it this year. Arrgh.

You are definitely on a mission.

Whew - almost had a CFIT going into Narsarsuaq Airport…set the altitude preselect to a few thousand feet…not realizing the terrain was as high as 8,000’ just north of the field. Was busy ordering something and just looked back in time to see me almost sliding onto the glacier… Doh!

more tears of joy

How I miss Orbiter.

Arrived…! Time to take a breather and prepare for the last couple legs…

Only three legs left…!

Wow, nice flying! Looks very impressive how you pick up the presents from a steady hover in that weather

Sure am glad to be ahead of that massive low sweeping up from over the Hudson Bay…that is going to make life miserable for eastern Canada, the northern latitudes, and Greenland over the next couple of days…

Starting to feel like my stomping grounds around Alaska…
