I guess the early terraformers failed…the whole planet was supposed to be 15C warmer…
Starting the last leg…Thule AB to Alert…! 367nm…on the waaaaaay…!
Arrived at Alert CFS - unloading the remaining bottles of eggnog…and packing up the presents…!
Gonna talk them out of a full load of JP4 and see if I can make it a one stop trip back to Charlotte…

2872 nautical miles? That’s one heck of a road trip with no stops. Especially will all that eggnog going to need periodic testing during the trip to make sure it’s still good.
No…I dropped ALL the remaining eggnog…(cough…well, except for that one case) in Alert…now I have toys to bring back!
With the winds aloft the way they are…I think that distance won’t be possible in the RJ70…we’ll see though…

Holy cow the winds are killing me. 224 knots groundspeed at FL340 at Mach .72… Right now still showing 10 hours enroute…LOL… I’m gonna need a KC-135 over Hudson Bay…

Coming up on that X-Plane anomaly that is the “end of the Earth” when crossing latitude 72 - there is normally not scenery north of 72N unless you use custom scenery/mesh (as I did)…but it didn’t cover this area…only Greenland up to Alert… So now I’m reentering XP default terrain south of 72N…

I made it…! LOL…set my alarm to get up around 4AM to check progress, decided to refuel, grabbed some gas, then put the autopilot on and went back to sleep for a few hours…got up, opened presents, and landed her this morning…

Awesome stuff guys!!!
I had planned on taking the MD80 from KTBR(Statesboro GA) to Gander Newfoundland(CYQX) and then going to BGGH. At BGGH I was switching to a C-17 and flying to Alert. At Alert I had planned on picking up my brand new 757 or 747. At which point I would fly from Alert to KJFK and then I would switch to an A320 and fly from KJFK to KSAV and then fly from KSAV to KTBR in a C208.
Due to my work schedule, working 18 days straight through the holidays, I wont be able to fly it before the deadline. I will however fly it and still report back with pics and stories!

Consider the deadline arbitrary. Somewhere in the world someone is celebrating a new year in February I’m sure…so whenever you find the time!
