Best I can tell, half black lab/ half German Shorthaired Pointer- he has the coloration and build of the former, but the nervous energy, and behaviorial tendencies (pointing, tracking) of the latter.
And the intelligence and goofiness of both.
I grew up with border collies and mixes, and he’s not quite that level of high-strung, but he’s close.
The white in the muzzle is fairly recent-ish. Best we can tell from his initial intake inspections when he was rescued, he’s now somewhere between about 7 and 10 years old.

He was staying with a couple of his best human and canine friends, so he was definitely having all the fun.

RiP. The last few days he was pretty immobile and struggling. He crossed the bridge eating liver pate as it happened. Finishing as he spent his life.
