They don’t just become a pleasant companion when you get one, they become family. When I lost my Molly, I was 30 years old and it reduced me to crying like my 7 year old self who’d just found how he’d lost his grandfather all over again.

Today we buried Miss Marple.
She was 13 years old.

The last two days she didn’t eat properly and we thought that maybe something is wrong with a tooth because she acted pretty normal otherwise.
So we took her to the vet and her teeth were perfect. So the vet put her to sleep to check her. It was cancer with no chance of treatment. The vet recommended we don’t wake her up from her slumber and we decided to let her sleep.

I am so sorry for your loss. Terrible to get surprised with that and then have to make a life and death decision about your friend…
The only upside here is that you were able to save her from some terrible pain. But that is worth a lot!
