So… that ear isn’t going to stand up, is it?

He is super cute though!

No. It pops up occasionally but it is a rare event. He looks very cute though.

He is a monster. He rubs against your legs like a cat if you have been away. 68 kg of him. Easy to get knocked over. Look at the photo with my wife next to the tyre with him sitting in it. NB All the tyres are big tractor tyres

Beautiful Harry! Lucky dog having lots of room to roam and living in a home where she(?) will get lots o’ lovin’ and be accepted as part of the family

It is great to have so much to stimulate her young mind right at our doorstep. A very quick learner but she is too smart… almost. I know we are going to have our hands full once we get to the velociraptor stage :stuck_out_tongue:

Merlin (had a name change because Reiner just wasn’t working) is way more vocal and rambunctious. Sometimes it’s like watching an extrovert talk the ear off an introvert when they’re together :joy:

Hehe, that chart is a lie. We were told our Border Collie/Treeing Walker Coonhound mix would completely chill out by age 3.

She’s going on 12…

and is still Bananas. B. A. N. A. N. A. S.

Luckily, her brother couldn’t be bothered to comment.

I once knew a terrier (I think she was a German Hunting Terrier) and she was pure energy. Like, all 10kg of her. You could not exhaust her.
Everybody said she would eventually settle a bit, after four years or so.

She lived to 16 years old and only got a tiny bit slower.

She almost made the 17 but she died a couple of months before, because she escaped and ran off hunting something or someone, and ran into a car. It was sad, but that little bundle of energy died as she lived, a completely crazy little hunting dog.

The thing with Ridgies isn’t so much the boundless energy… she is a little energizer bunny as it is.

It is the disobedient distruction that the raptor stage entails. We have had five others and they have all been the same. Barely a day goes by when you aren’t telling them “you’re the reason we can’t have nice things” :stuck_out_tongue:

Samuel Barkly

He was a good dog, who lived a long and happy life. Was beginning to hope/think he was immortal. He went to his final rest in a hospital today, surrounded by family

2009 - 2024 RIP
