He sleeps quietly under the bed… or maybe he is out wandering the house but at least he is doing it quietly.

Sounds just like our Bengal. His favorite sleeping place is under the bed.
It seems our cat also likes contained places, like nests. It could be pillows and blanket or every cats’ favorite: cardboard boxes. To me it seems they prefer low ceiling in that sense.

The mother in law does sitting for us when we’re away and she’s always over the moon how sweet our cats are to never wake her. The truth though is that every now and then the two buggers raise hell at night, and she’s just hard of hearing.

Narrowed eyes or blinking at you is cat talk for “I like you, you are not a threat to me, nor am I to you". They will also take that message if you close your eyes at them, as you tell them in their own language that you are cool with them.

Yeah it’s funny how the big eyes “puss in boots” look actually means “I’m going to kill you” in cat language, whereas something like this:
means “I love you”

Our dogs Buddy and Luna. English creme retrievers and brother and sister, with Luna younger by a couple of years. She’s had a couple of litters now and most have gone on to be support/therapy or guide dogs. Buddy is a bit of a stoner (literally will try to eat weed butts off the ground, gives him THC poisoning) and Luna has a streak of fire (she pushes poor Bud’s around a lot), but they are good pets and a great excuse for long walks.

Some dogs want 100% consistent rules and strict training, some respond to kindness and affection, some just to like to obsess over a ball or hunting.
These dogs are completely ruled by food. Their entire personality is a food treat.
