Project Cars 2

Here you go. Project Cars 2 Rally Cross poorly driven by me. This is non-VR, full screen…

I think B made me go Super Saiyan (I don’t even know what that means oddly enough…)

Oh my word, look at that roll. lolol.

That’s a defensive fighter pilot maneuver. Nobody can stay on my six through that…

Actually…if you don’t mind grabbing the tow truck…I could use a lift…

By the way…the rain and mud effects are great. I’ll try to grab footage of that at some point. Probably not tonight though. I gotta go to sleep in case the dreaded pager goes off… (Remember…I don’t want to go fly for real, because I want to stay in my house to pretend fly… )

If you feel motivated, try Sakitto at dusk, damp track if that’s an option, partly cloudly skies. Maybe Nissan GT-R. Sakitto (Suzuka, real life) at dusk is epic.

Started a race with a clean car and all the parts. Ended the race with a muddy car and not all the parts.

Man, nice shots. Rain in PC2 is pretty good.

I’m personally just looking for a new VR experience … to explore what current gen VR can do well (IMO of course). I forgot Project Cars (which I bought on sale many moons ago) had VR so I tried it out tonight.

Verdict? I think VR can do auto racing very well thank you! I just wish MXGP3 had VR! That would be nuts.

Dirt Rally also sounds like it would be crazy good with VR … thanks for the tip and the $12 price tag @fearlessfrog.

Should I also buy Project Cars 2 … prolly.

Agreed. MXGP3 in VR would be da bomb. Dirt Rally is so good in VR, that it’s like flying choppers in DCS. Can’t imagine life without it once you’ve tried it

RallyCross in Dirt Rally is super fun in multiplayer with friends.

Although I don’t do VR, I have DR and both PC1 and 2 games and I love them all. I also have the CM F1 titles and the older Simbin GTR2/GTL that I’ve put a good amount of time into.

That said, I can’t imagine racing without a wheel. Driving a car with a gamepad is as bad as…flying a Hornet with a gamepad!

I’ve had my G27 since 2012, but I’ve been using a wheel with my PC since…whenever TM released the TM1 wheel. Was that 1995? I’ve used TM, MS, Act Labs, and now Logi for many years (had the Momo before the 27) and I can’t imagine racing without them.

It’s just like having a good HOTAS. Sure, you can fly without it…but why would you do that to yourself?

Just the hassle of it when I’m flipping back and forth between racing (very occasionally) and flight sims (most of the time). I have a glass desk with no permanent attachment point for the wheel, so I have to break out a block of wood to put under my Momo attachment screws. It is a bit of a commitment to bring out the wheel… I know, I know…probably takes about 3 or 4 minutes to switch out. I’m just THAT lazy…

I haven’t played this in VR since near the release date, does it still get a little choppy around the pits?

Ooooo, Dirt Rally has Rally Cross?! I guess I’m going to have get my G27 out of the closet and dusted off. Also going to streamline the switching out of the joystick platform.

I had a great time just taking casual drives through the countryside in Mobile 1 Rally Championship back in the day. With Dirt Rally and VR I imagine it’s going to be sublime!

Oh, I get that part. I will take my HOTAS out and then I’m only flying that week. Next week I will swap for the wheel and then I’m only racing. Constant flopping back and forth is a pain.

I have a cheap ass particle board desk and I place my HOTAS on the kb drawer when I use that or I clamp the wheel and shifter to it when I use that. The big hassle is swapping the pedals back and forth, hence my weekly dictum.

It also can mean I will go a month or more of only flying or only racing as I’m too lazy to bother swapping! Lately I’ve been mostly flying, (Il-2 BoX primarily as I wait for the 2.5 updates  ) but I’ve done a little Harrier practice and actually am fairly decent at field work. Next step–Tarawa!

What are the key differences between PC 1 and 2. Seems many cars and trucks are shared. Would it be more apt to call the second game pc1.5, rather than 2? Or is there enough different?
