Ian Bell’s GTRevival Becomes “Project Motor Racing”, Switches Publisher to GIANTS – GTPlanet
Quietly optimistic on this one but I feel this will be more simcade then anything, I’m feeling somewhere between Grid and Project Cars 2. Maybe it will capture that old TOCA feel and give us a career mode.
I’m gonna be the outlier and say I find “hardcore” race sims boring as heck, and that they’ve become a dime a dozen while arcade racers have somehow gotten a bad rep.
Well… I guess there goes my childhood of Ridge Racer…
I guess I’m an outlier too. While I enjoy hardcore or study simulation, I feel there is a place for simcade. Some of my favorite racers included the older Need for Speed and Test Drive series. I think the hardcore crowd creates a niche “members only” club that keeps other racers/gamers out. I consider them “Enemies of the Sim.”
On topic: I’m really waiting for this one because I miss my old favorite cars, like the Lister Storm, Saleen S7, and Viper GTS (I hope this will be added). I’m cool with something like PCars 2, which is the “sweet spot” for me.
Love project cars, but again, I usually do the street tracks rather than closed circuits, which I tend to find repetitive.
I tend to prefer ‘offroad’ racing, and there is room on my HD for Dirt Rally and DIRT…
I’m the same, probably because of my love for Rally, single car (better for frame rate on my PC as well) me against the clock. The ‘Coast Road’ in PC2 is my favourite circuit in that game, this one:
And the Nordschleife, Tourist / Bridge to Gantry is my fave in AC.
Dang it! I recently bought LMU, now I’m really salivating over this one. “This is why I’m broke” series incoming.
my impression is more sim less arcade .
here some first impressions
but some people stay similarly cautious it seems . from the comments under the article

I didnt liked Project Cars and I dont like this one. Just another simcade who pretends to be a serious sim experience for people with consoles and gamepads… Who cares about the graphics anymore? Why companies keep refrying same thing over and over. We just need better physics and better ffb. At least on Pc versions where the equipment nowadays is so capable. So sad this new gen games… Hoping The Last Garage to be better.
I like the idea of a sim-lite racer where I can have a good experience on a racing wheel but actually have a good race against people on gamepads… it seems terribly difficult to make those two very different demands work nicely in a single game…
VERY CAUTIOUS… it’s another Ian Bell project.
Pre orders are up. Standard $60 USD due out Q4 2025, So I expect a slip to 2026.
Nope… no way I’m jumping in on that early.
Agree, plus no mention of VR means that I’ll give it a pass anyway.
