Hi all,
I want to install some custom helmets in a few of my aircraft but I was wondering if anyone out there is using them. Do they reset after major patches? Are there any precautions I need to take to not break the aircraft? I know I have to do a bit of file editing in most cases and the authors have given instructions in those cases. I also know backing up files before editing is best practice.

Last time I did it was when I crafted the helmets for Baltic Dragon F-18 campaign.
As far as I know, as long as you create your own livery- an update shouldn’t break them.
In general whenever you want to introduce a change in DCS rule #1 is always “Make a backup copy” and rule #1-a is “Save it on another drive”
Are you familiar with the livery definition?
I’m only familiar with livery folders, and I understand that some .lua editing may be involved when changing helmets. So, not really.
Ok no worries. The upside is, if I got it, anyone can.
I am at work now and I do have some quite loaded evening but I will get back at you.
