I’m doing my very… ehrrr… best?
Could you rank it on the Bristol Stool Chart, for clarity?
Will get get alternate Arnold Pilot Model?
It’s an asset available with the South Florida/ Keys map pack.
Just so long as the maker includes Bright Boy Alerts.
I can’t tell if the CCIP is off or if it’s just perceived that way because Larry Zambrano gives no bothers about your minimum ranges. The symbol is clearly WIP, but it’s nice to see the MacD rotating sight.
This is a really exciting module…I can’t wait to fly it…
Landing the Harrier vertically in SF1/2 was one of the hardest things you could attempt. Takeoffs were a breeze, but to get it to slow to a hover was a true feat.
I wonder if it will be similarly difficult here. I’ve not tried CAP2 so I don’t know how that one flies or lands.
I’m curious as to how different it will be to a helo. I suppose that some of the critical flight regimes wouldn’t apply, like retreating blade stall, wouldn’t apply, but I bet that others do. Maybe settling with power? Or is it basically a thrust over weight situation?
CAP2’s landing is actually manageable. It’s difficult, but it can be done. I really enjoy it.
My understanding is there are huge caution areas in the flight envelope in transition and vertical modes, due to temperatures, engine intake needs, flow turbulences from the exhaust nozzles, and the lack of any kind of ground effect.
Should make for landing attempts more hilarious than the MiG-21.
I’m waiting for CAP2 to be finished enough that I won’t feel burned if I buy it and all work stops at that point.
Like happened with Takedown.
I like the idea and what I’ve seen so far, but I know it’s not nearly close to being done enough for me.
Mudspike Community Contest Idea: For the release of the Harrier, we create a “Harrier Bloopers” thread where you post the best of your take-off / landing / transition mistakes.
At the end of a month, temporarily close the thread (for an even playing field) and hold a contest for the following weekend- person with the most entertaining edit + music wins something. Promptly re-open the thread afterwards for more hilarity.
@EinsteinEP, @BeachAV8R, am I on to something?
This is brilliant. Can we make it maybe a thing for more than just the Harrier though? I foresee massive potential for sensible chuckles when we start learning how to bring a Tomcat or Hornet aboard the boat, especially at night.
“Wave off… Wave off. WAVE OFF. WAVE OFF!!!”
Just finished a Harrier Mission on USNF/MF in Dosbox…
Landing on Wasp w/ Keyboard was a PITA
Land a Huey on top of a vertically sustained Harrier!
*sharp intake of breath *
Ooh, yeah- that one.
Are you Dr Zebra?
