Wikipedia has an amazing article on Stalag Luft III, which details the escape through tunnel Harry and the aftermath. While I whole-heatedly admire the bravery, determination, and ingenuity of those that attempted the escape and helped with the effort, I fear that for the 3 that actually made it, in retrospect the cost of 47 lives was too high. Resist at all opportunity taken to the ultimate.
