Looks very cool. (And kinda scary)
Does anyone have controls that replicate a bike? I looked years ago and no joy.
If they did Iād be all in on thisā¦plus some kind of haptic feedback kneepads would be killer too?!. Might take me back to my time trying not to trash my R-1 during track days (with rented leather suit).
Gear lever would be nice too. Oh, and foot brake?
I like, or used to like, 4-wheeled sims but, just too many wheels. Nothing is as scary-thrilling [IRL] as Doin It on 2 wheelsā¦my old heart is racing again.
Oh my, this could send me off the deep end. Fortunately I have no room for itā¦wife might not mind me knocking out a wall?
Even though Iām not riding on the āstreetā these days I get to a track day as often as possible.
But even though I have tried bike sims, going back to Microprose GP500, I just canāt get into them. I suck at using a controller for racing sims and using a wheel and pedals just feels wrong, besides how do you āreplicateā counter-steering and the sensation of āsteeringā a bike with your whole body?
This looks like the answer, I donāt really have the room either, but maybe if it goes to market, I could sell my track day toy?
Anyone interested in a stripped back Suzuki RGV 250, Close to 70HP at the wheel (on LL AVGAS) and 135kg
Yes. But she would kill me if i bought another bike.
About ten years ago Thrustmaster released a handlebar controller called the Freestyler. There was also an offering for Hori but I think it was for a console. Sadly, bike controllers are not popular, so eBay might be your best option for finding a controller if you donāt have the skill to MacGyver one.
These guys seem to know what they are doing:
Exactly. Just not the same, or even close. Itās like I know too much about that rush from exiting a corner, powering through; bringing the front wheel up with a flick (cus Itās just fun); the scream it made when you hit 160 MPH (my limit on my track, and my bravery meter).
You can feel it in your buttā¦you are quite literally part of the machine, and not just sitting there manipulating it, etc, etc. Hmm, like riding a fast horse vs bein on a buggy (seated) being pulled by one (or more).
Gotta shut up. Those days are gone.
My very last bike as a SV650 - was underpowered (compared to previous rides); suspension not great (stock).but light and fun.
There was someone on the otherforumwhichmustnotbenamed years ago (probably 2003 or so) was working on a motorcycle controller that looked very good. Iāll do a bit of digging and see if I saved any pictures.
Thanks but I have tried a lot of variations with a wheel (some very similar to that). I even set up a bench so I was crouched in front of the screen like I would be on a bike
But although I can suspend disbelief with car sims (especially with VR), @jross nails it when he says ālike riding a fast horse vs bein on a buggyā⦠if you have ever ridden a horse that is?
