Sure. He’s got a full list of all his sources. I could do it but it would cost me another $60k minimum. The “new thing” isn’t much more than that. (Not being coy but I don’t want to post until it arrives IF it arrives. So far it’s been “Next month!” since Oshkosh.). Back to the Rotorway, the motor alone is $32k and that is AFTER one gives the guy a core. So, basically, I would need to buy an old Rotorway and ship the motor off with a big check.
I hear that a group in Europe have come up with an air-cooled helicopter version of the UL motor. Maybe I’ll hold out for that.
Ouch! Even if that was 32K in our money… Factor in the conversion rate and that is a bloody nice brand new car.
Yep. A new 200 HP Lycoming IO-360 will set you back nearly $60k. And if you haven’t played around with a Lycoming or Continental, the technology is pre-war. Tough, dependable, ancient. I am curious what ULPower engines sell for. Haven’t found much info on them yet.
