I take it you have never flown the Viggen…

Right now it’s situated slightly forward of my shoulder position, so I more or less reach straight down. I would’ve preferred to mount it forwards, but there’s no space available.
I could make a bracket and mount it forward and inside of the throttle…?
I’ll give it some thought. Any bright ideas are welcome, as always!

The Mirage 2000 position of the gear handle (further forward) seems ‘natural’ but the reality is you’ll get used to wherever you decide so probably not a biggie.

Now, how hard would it be to have green lights next to the handle corresponding to the successful locking of the in-game landing gear? :stuck_out_tongue:

Not very hard but Troll flies in VR

Exactly! :vr:
The MMJoy2 software actually supports output as well.

Nice, but in that case you might as well do it with a simple transistor because the MMJoy2 doesn’t read the game state right?

You can use the Export.lua file to export data from the aircraft to external files, although many servers limit it now a days after people threw a stink a year or two back when some clever people made a datalink for the F-15.

I haven’t looked closer at it. I know some people made controllers with LEDs showing game state from IL-2. But I would imagine that it needs some sort of export utility.

I think I have it confused with some other software then, it very well might be able to do that!

Beautiful inspiration as always Troll. Thanks for Sharing. GOOD STUFF.

Ok cool. I take two of each one. Ship them to the usual address.

Moved the throttle a couple of inches forward.
This also moved the gear/flap remote further forward. In addition, the remote was moved away from the sidewall.
Not sure I’m happy about this arrangement…?
It works, so I’ll leave it as is, for now, until a better solution comes to mind.

Because of the RTT module, the Throttle was moved inwards, closer to the stick. So close, in fact, that there’s now a whopping 5mm clearing, between the two, when the sidewall is closed

Upgrade of the first one or addition of second one?

I’ve decided to remake the gear and flap handle add on to the RTT.
There are several aircraft with a middle gear position and I’d like a larger gear handle.
I’d also like to add some more engine controls, like radiators and cowl flaps.
So I decided to remove the gear/flap extension and make another controller…

Stay tuned.

Started on the gear handle mechanism, today…

I managed to keep it quite small. It’s about 4x4cm (less than a 2" cube).
Need to adjust the length of some parts and add switches. There will also be a spring, pulling the handle back, into the locking positions.

Not bad!

I’ll decide on the length of the handle when I have installed it in the box.
Also need to make a 3D printed wheel handle.

Made a gear handle and cover for the mechanism and ordered from ShapeWays.com.

Please tell me there will be a red light in the handle

They have a ’clear frosted plastic’ option, so I considered it… But I decided against it
