That’s awesome. DCS could certainly use some additional SAM systems.

Please enlighten me. What’s so great about it? Flying telephone poles?

Precisely. More flying telephone poles. But this one in particular better matches up with the MiG-21, F-5, and upcoming F-4. (and early A-6’s, when they I’ve comes out). It’ll provide a nice stationary SAM site for mission building that isn’t the God Mode SA-10.

Because IADS bro.

The SA-2 was the ubiquitous Strategic SAM of the Cold War. Between the USSR and China, the SA-2 was exported to anyone and everyone that was even slightly left in the geopolitical divide. Along with the SA-3 and SA-5, they formed the backbone of any Soviet styled IADs (such as those used by Iraq, Iran, Libya, Egypt, China, North Korea, and well, the Soviet Union).

Because our increasing variety of cold war jets need something realistic to dodge

Because you can’t have Luke Skywalker without Darth Vader, and you can’t have a Phantom without an SA-2
