In that case, I’ll end up a cube.
Heh, and miss another and you be a hypercube!
I have a bunch of unused vacation days, so with some warning I could arrange something.
I am off tommorow so Im a threat tonight!!! Whoo Hoo! Thank You @schurem!!!
Excitement is Building !
Allright you fokkers, the servers’ up. Have at it!
I’ll be busy tending to the kids for a bit, then I’ll come and tango with you as well
@admin, when I click the edit button to the top post, I can only edit the thread title, not the post itself. Is this a bug I found, or am I missing a button?
I’m just trying to get my pc to play ball with my rift. First time I’ve plugged it in since I lent it to scoop and now my rig crashes on startup bear with me
I am cheffing all night, might see if I can get on late if your still around
Taking a break for a bit after getting outmaneouvered by @Maico in his gorgeous cadillac of the skies:
Yes, that fire is where my beautiful little red MiG ended its existence.
@Victork2 taking a break as well, seeing as his plane isn’t asking for lots of control inputs anymore:
Its the superleggera version of the sabre. Lightweight. Speedy. Streamlined.
@Maico @Franze getting stuck in!!
had some child issues so i had to bail out for tonight, great night though, thanks to @schurem for organising again. feel i learned a lot tonight. me and the tomcat are getting closer and closer…god i love it!! Ill be online tommorow night as well i imagine
I had a great time. This is just so good. @Franze was untouched up high. As usual he showed us how to properly use the aircraft. @schurem and I just got silly in the i-16 "clown planes. I will demand revenge
Wish I was around tonight but I got to take the girls out. Tomorrow is a short day so I might hop on later. Thank you all for a good time.
Hey guys,
I have been trying to fly the MiG-19. I say trying cos its a beast. I hope you guys can give me some tips next time out.
It an aircraft I’m very fond of, I could do with a refresher as well. Happy to help dual learning @Maico
I also suck at the Farmer, so I’d be glad to watch and spar in MiG on MiG action. Perhaps mix a F-5 in when it gets boring. On the other hand, the tiger properly trounces the MiG-21, so I don’t see why it should be more equal to the -19.
Anyway, with the current heatwave going on, fight club is not an option for me. Not only does the box itself raise the room temperature by 5 degrees, the VR goggles are excruciating in this sticky hot weather.
VR is supposed to be more immersive, and you have us flying over a desert! Just need to top off your rig with some car style HVAC, or at least a giant fan. Then you could have adjustable vents, like some of the jets!
Or go next level and vent the PC to the outside.
I used to run a big ol’ 12cm airhose from the window to my pc, hooked it up with some tierips to an inhaling fan. The effect wasn’t much, and it was a bit of a hassle to have that fat hose strung through the room, so after the room reverted from baby room to computer room again, I never hooked up the hose.
Hey Fellas!
I may have cracked this but Im not sure. I have put up a server. Need a volunteer to try and join.
Maico’s Server Pass is Thunderdome. Please join in and fly around a minute or so. Just need to know it works. This is my first server.
just had a quick look, couldnt see a “Maico’s server” there, is that the server name, Hollowpoint north was there. you may have an issue I ran in to. somthing to do with different IP address’s I had to restart my rounter, then set up the server before anyone else could see it.
DCS makes use of UPNP so there shouldn’t be any configuration needed.
If you’d prefer to use port forwarding for stabilities sake, you have to ensure your server PC doesn’t change it’s local IP address - which would “break” the forward.
While many may suggest a static IP config, this can lead to issues with other machines if the router doesn’t acknowledge it and then tries to assign that address via DHCP. Some routers, such as my Asus RT-AC3200 don’t assign sequentially and that is where you would have an issue - although my ASUS router also recognizes static IP devices (as not assigned via DHCP) so it won’t do that.
The better solution is to enable a DHCP reservation for the address in your router. This may not be available to all routers, but can usually be found under LAN config, DHCP config, “static” addresses (the term is used wrong sometimes), reservations, etc. This essentially tells the router “you assigned device A address X, always give it that address” and then your port forwards remain valid (until you get a new network adapter).
Or you can tell the DHCP server to only give out addresses in the .100 - .255 range. That way the local IP addresses below .100 are always open for fixed addressing.
