Awesome shots gentlemen. Sorry I could only join so late, missed most of the fun, though me and @Derbysieger did our best to inconvenience a red column that was invading [town name] to rob the beer and currywurst. Our clusterbombs fell into the woods really spectacularly, and my six pods of HEAT rockets did F-all in a tremendously explosive and smoky way. One of Derby’s mavericks managed to connect, so it wasn’t a bust I guess. Oh and we both parked our phantoms in a state that would allow re-use

She makes you appreciate a HUD sometimes. Yesterday coming in for landing at Tegel, I botched my scan on short final, going from analog ASI to AoA, then to lineup. I was hot due to getting behind the throttle, feeling a big sink, then adding too much thrust. At some point I gave up any sort of scan and thought f-it, just fly the f-ing f-er. Greased it. Jester said, “that landing brought a tear to my eye” 
It’s such a feeling of accomplishment flying the big beast. Now I know why in old 8mm movies those flight crews taxing up after missions, canopies open, with their arms resting on the canopy sills, as if to say, “We bad, uh-huh.”

Flying heatblur modules sure does give you that feeling eh. I been hacking away on @reflected’s Speed & Angels for a bit, and that big turkeybird is one bad motherlover too.

Talking about sticky landing gear… I was buzzing around in the phantom and hit a wrong key, started to lower landing gear in flight then lifted it again … later on had an issuse where mavs wouldnt fire, so jettisoned them. later had a had a quick look outside and noticed
