Last night I managed to win my first rallycross race …with the Mini …on easy. Yay for me! :smiley:
In fact I tried with a more modern car as well but I cannot control it, so I ended up second to last.

I also tried that Hillclimb modus. But I don’t get it. I can’t see the turns when driving at appropriate speeds to win against even the “open” AI, and my co-driver is mute. Is that intentional? Am I supposed to learn the track by heart? Am I missing something?

Hillclimb is just you in the car. No co driver. You can break it up into 3 sections I think. But you need to learn it by heart.

I found rallycross to be darn near impossible unless you work out a set-up for it.

For the hillclimb, while learning the course, just keep an eye out for the road signs. Anything you can’t just full throttle through is marked. Also if you hadn’t found out already, the darn things don’t bend at all if you hit one. it’s easier to chop a phone pole in half than even bend those things in game.

What I really miss is a “tutorial+testing mode”, like a course consisting of simple shapes in a easy-to-learn sequence, like

1 right,
100m
1 left,
100m,
2 right,
100m
2 left,
100m
…
and so on.
and then you could choose gravel or dirt or whatever

or a rally-cross-type track but without AI and laps, just you and your car, to practice drifting and setups and other stuff.

Or even better: A series of turns where you have to drive through and the instructor tells you what you maybe be doing wrong.

I just took a rally stage I know rather well by now and test there, but it is not the same. I sometimes fail rather easy stages and don’t get why.

There is the shakedown which you can do to test out set ups and such, although it’s not a full stage practice. Starting to wonder if we should start up a Mudspike DiRT Rally league :stuck_out_tongue:

…but I wondered about that “compare with your friends” button already. Is that only for Steam friends?
If yes: Anyone who wants to be my Steam friend so I can see how much I suck at each stage? :smiley:
