The only thing you have to lose is your bandwidth, time and probably some more bandwidth. It’s an Alpha.
Despite my pesimism, i think this is a great opportunity to have a look at the alpha in its current state to see if its worth you dropping money on it.
You can have fun out of it in its current iteration and it will give you a flavour of the potential that this game can have if its pulled off.

I agree. It is far from being finished, but it provides a nice glance of in which direction it is going.
