Interesting!
I hadn’t heard this one before. Must have been one hell of a ride.

Wowza… Impressive.
Great item. Very skilled piece of flying–underscores the adage of “aviate, navigate, communicate”.
Sad about the incident pilot. I had never heard of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease; Googled it and got this:
Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease may occur spontaneously, be inherited, or be transmitted by contact with infected tissue, such as during a transplant or from eating contaminated meat.
The condition causes personality changes, anxiety, depression, and memory loss, usually within a few months. Many people lapse into coma.
Because no effective treatment exists, the focus is on alleviating pain and relieving symptoms.
You got to wonder if the “transmitted by contact with infected tissue” could have been from the bird strike.
Not very likely.
AFAIK the only known animal illness that could cause CJD in humans is BSE ( Bovine spongiform encephalopathy - Wikipedia ) and that would be cows, and you have to eat them.
Jesus, imagine a bird strike— WITH A COW! D:
Even knowing the outcome would be favorable reading that story had my heart rate elevated quite a bit.
Wheels
We had quite a scare with BSE and CJD in the UK back in the early 90s
It was quite scary for a while
What with the black shark and cow NPCs coming to DCS, not hardly as unlikely as you’d expect
A mooving video.
