Super Bowl LIV

You mean Lenny Kravitz and Missy’s show, where Katy Perry created or featured memes?

Honest, but cruel

People wanted to see a show and they definitely got one that day! I think that’s a shortcoming of the last few ones. They were not that much of a show with crazy big show elements.
Sure, dancers and music but not much more.

German TV did a quick poll on their social media and 57% say Shakira.

57% male?

I don’t think so. I’d say 95% of the voters are male.

Most women here are not crazy enough to stay up (and possibly take a day off from work) to watch a show at 2:30 in the night.

I like how the 49ers use their fullback as a kind of third tight end.

So, that’s it. Nice game.
The Chiefs earned that win through hard work.

And an entertaining game to the end. Glad it wasn’t a blow out.

wasn’t pleased with the 49ers play calling in the 4th. Particularly the 3 and out drive with about 7 mins on the clock. Up 20-10, you get 2nd and 7 and throw it. Now its 3rd and 7, and you have to throw it, and then punt it and didn’t tick off more than 15-20 seconds. They literally rode the running game to the Super Bowl and then abandoned it when they needed it the most. I get the chiefs were loading the box, but if your going to go 3 and out, at least run the clock down when you have a 10 point lead. Also thought they mismanaged the clock right before half. I’m a Cowboys fan so at least it was a good game.

Also that was the most boneheaded P.I. i have ever seen on the ensuing Chiefs drive to set up the score. You cant do that in tight games.

San Francisco must have practically just rolled over to let the Chiefs score 21 points in less than 8 minutes…

I dunno. I liked the half time show. I’m a casual fan of Shakira. I also am a fan of Bad Bunny and J Balvin, who did cameo appearances (Bad Bunny during Shakira and J Balvin during J Lo).

As much as I like Brady, it’s refreshing to see a super bowl without the Pats.

Yeah, I can’t blame Shanahan for wanting to run their ball control offense when they had a 10 point lead. The game had pretty much gone to plan at that point. “But my how the tables have turned”, to quote a State Farm commercial :grinning:.

That Mahones. What an athlete. Also you have to hand it to the KC D, who played their best football in the 4th.

No Wheels, you are thinking of the Falcons.

I already wondered who those two dudes were, I didn’t know them at all.

Complete mismanagement of the clock at the end of the first half. Highly likely they could have gotten at least a field goal, might have gotten a TD which would have dramatically changed the course of the game.

Seconded on the lack of running game. SF averaged 6.4 yards per carry, and they had couple 10+yd carries. Hammering the football on the ground got you to the SB, keep it up. Particularly as you noted in the 4th they didn’t get close to burning down the clock the way they needed to. With a 10 point lead every possession at a minimum needs to burn down at least 160 seconds, every single one. I’ve honestly seen some fairly poor clock management in the NFL this season.

Yeah that PI was just painful to see happen. Kind of like Kittles OPI earlier that brought a big gain back.

But the single most import thing: Brady wasn’t playing.
