Can’t believe it went all day without being mentioned.
International Talk Like a Pirate Day (ITLAPD) is a parodic holiday created in 1995 by John Baur (Ol’ Chumbucket) and Tim Laugel (Cap’n Slappy), of Albany, Oregon, U.S., who proclaimed September 19 each year as the day when everyone in the world should talk like a pirate.

In Charleston, South Carolina, the custom was to hang pirates and throw their corpses into the marsh to be carried out with the next ride.
Thus spawned the name of our first (Woodford) bourbon barrel aged imperial stout, Face Down in the Mud . ABV: 14%
