HEADS-UP! AS OF 2024, SUPPORT FOR OPENXR TOOLKIT IS DISCONTINUED.
THERE IS NO NEW DEVELOPMENT AND NO TECH SUPPORT OF ANY SORT. THE DEVELOPER DOES NOT RECOMMEND TO INSTALL/USE OPENXR TOOLKIT, AS IT IS KNOWN TO CAUSE ISSUES WITH MANY OF THE NEWER GAMES RELEASED IN SINCE 2024.
too bad but would it be possible for him too open source toolkit project??
is there any replacement utilities that will show the Frametimes and such as this utility did in the works or available to DL⊠I am unable to use Rivatuner I donât think it works in VR??
OpenXR was the only reason I was able to get rid of the shakiness when recording VR footage via their âoverpredictionâ adjustment, or whatever it is. The feature changed names like 5 times.
Iâm really struggling with Reflectedâs Debdan Eagles campaign without the OXR TK. RESOLVED, see below.
Itâs fine leaving England with a group of Mustangs, but when I go feet dry in France, about the time you hear Ha, Ha, Ha on the radio, the FPS begins dropping to single digit numbers.
Iâm tempted to reinstall the OXR TK, even though itâs no longer supported, but would rather learn how to live without it, if this is going to be the future. Are there launch commands or other ways to configure OXR without the TK? Also, Iâm really missing the screen capture feature.
Would you happen to have wake turbulence turned on? I had to disable that for all WW2 missions because it would cause single-digit framerates with the high number of aircraft spawned in the combat zone.
Yes I do. Funny how a Mustang will toss you around almost the same velocity as a KC-135 Iâll try turning it off though. Good find.
I found my problem though, which was not related to OpenXR TK or any other VR setting. You know what they say, the first place to begin troubleshooting is at the physical layer.
I had done a bit of that - switched headsets, switched USB C cables, rebooted my PC, and power-cycled the USB C powered hub that connects my Quest 3. Nothing worked. In fact it began getting worse, with sound glitching. The Oculus software began complaining that I was connecting with USB 2 instead of 3, when I was actually via C.
Out of desperation, I unplugged and reconnected the USB C cable that connects my USB C hub to the PC and that was it! Damn! Most likely the motherboard USB C interface was glitching and even though I rebooted both the PC and the USB C hub, I hadnât actually physically disconnected them.
From the P-51D Instant Action A8 Furball mission. At high DCS settings captured from VR mirror. FPS was pretty steady in the low 70s using a 72 Hz refresh rate.
Is there any other software to run in DCS w/Openxr that will show frametimes and such like the toolkit did. I mean besides the built in one from DCS and FPSVRâŠ
You didnât say what headset you are using. But if Oculus, the debug tool has one. Using my Copilot foo:
Certainly! To enable the performance overlay (HUD) in the Oculus Debug Tool for Oculus Link or Air Link, follow these steps:
Open Windows Explorer (Windows key + E).
Navigate to your Oculus installation directory (usually âC:\Program Files\Oculus\â).
Open the âSupportâ directory and then âoculus-diagnostics.â
Launch the OculusDebugTool application.
Select âPerformanceâ from the dropdown list for âVisible HUDâ â”.
This HUD will display useful metrics like FPS, latency, and performance headroom, helping you optimize settings and troubleshoot performance issues. Happy gaming!
well I found out the OpenXR has a tool to display the frametime info and all I tried it and it does show relevant info about frametime but it shows in one eye and a little to high up to see wellâŠ
I guess that it is as goodas itwill ever be⊠but I just use the Toolkit for that info as that still works and I have not seen any undesired effects of it running.
