I’ll volly for the manpad. I’ve had decent luck keeping one ‘close by’ either in a crate (my new preference since they’re virtually indestructible and not targeted by the enemy) or vehicle.
Roger that.
Seems like we got the basics.

Are we not getting taxes as income? I’m sure I saw several pop-ups saying we were getting money - but I can’t remember if it was much or just pocket money. Must be a way we can increase that (take a few residential areas?).
Great works, guys. I’m out of action today - had a couple of mishaps today (burned my arm on the bike exhaust) and on top of that the weather tonight is stifling inside and out.
Hope to get on tomorrow. Razzle dazzle!
We do indeed, but it sounds like the income from resources is primary, multiplied by factories. I don’t really know for sure, only what I read.
Lunch/Dinner is over (I’m never sure what to call it; lunch time here but supper for me) and I’m getting on.
Fantastic solo run, well done in a tense situation😀
10 minutes and I’m there.
Many thanks.
A good part of that was luck.
I always say dinner if it’s the main meal of the day, otherwise it’s either lunch or tea ![]()
Had a massive frontline tour tonight. Thanks to @WarPig I had an absolute blast of a time.
Sniped 12 soldiers and one-shotted a drone out of the sky. ![]()
Plus recovered a few vehicles.
There would be a lot more to say but I’m really tired and it’s nearly 3:30 in the morning ![]()
In short though- we had one of the most immersive experience ever- surpassing even the Pripyat sniping mission of Call of Duty.
@TeTeT - as a side note- can you paste here the link to the Mag Repack mod?
I tried to browse the A3 mod workshop but there’s a million Mag Repack mods to choose from…
Which one? Nevermind! Got the HTML you had posted here! Solved ![]()
That was epic, especially the first part during the night when we got ambushed.
I’ll fill in some context:
@komemiute is an artist with the .408 at 800m. I put together our last remaining mortar on a truck, and I put together a crack AI team to provide security. Komemiute inserted onto the hill he used last time, sniper rifle in hand, and I stood by to provide mortar support.
Within seconds, an AAF drone flies over my mortar truck at low altitude, komemiute starts speaking in hushed tones, and I see lights on the hill. The lights are held by the owners of the drone, who open fire on my truck. komemiute makes a crack shot and takes down the drone mid-air, and I high tail it out with my riddled truck. Now he is on a hill surrounded by an enemy SF team intent on hunting him down. I drop some mortar rounds to occupy their thoughts, and then some smoke to cover his retreat, and it just gets better from there. I’ll let him tell the rest, but once the dust settled the AAF launched an all-out attack on a line extending from Negades to Kore, with the central focus on our factory. We got there as fast as we could, komemiute sniping from the hilltop and me directing the garrison from inside the factory. At one point I was lying down in a ditch throwing grenades at a squad of enemy soldiers shooting from across the road. It was an awesome fight, all under NVG. ![]()
We pushed them back, and while we didn’t win tonight, we didn’t lose.
The end of the brave defense of Kore. The defenders took minimal casualties, lots of loot for the FIA. It’s very considerate of the AAF to deliver it right to our door, better than Amazon!
Later this evening I got back on for a couple hours and did a cash truck heist, along with a three ammo trucks. I also responded to another contact report at Kore, an AAF patrol rolled through with an APC and a Strider armored car. The Strider apparently flipped and the crew bailed, because this is how I found it:
I got a mission to steal the one from the soccer stadium, and couldn’t resist setting up on the hill and sniping everyone with the MX flavor autorifle and a scope. Took two attempts; they pulled off a flanking maneuver I didn’t catch, but ended up wiping the garrison and having barely enough time to loot the place. You can see in the back there’s a nearly-full truck, including the supply crate from the FARP, towing the ammo truck. Not a bad haul, and a couple more things in the arsenal unlocked
I didn’t take or attempt to hold the soccer FARP, just pulled out of there as the QRF was arriving. I agree with @komemiute that we’re too extended at this time and need to consolidate and secure our positions to the north so that we can’t be attacked from behind anymore.
The last mission I got was another ammo truck; this one was north of the resource site, bizarrely away from the outpost itself. Was easy to walk in and simply drive away, never even fired at anyone. Drove past the resource site with the pedal to the metal and made it home without incident.
We have the same, but we also have supper which is dinner eaten in the evening. I’m not sure if you could have a dinner for lunch, but I suppose it’s possible. It gets confusing when the day involves meals in multiple timezones.
Well, Sunday usually has dinner at lunchtime here!
Anyway, awesome actions and nice report! So cheesed that I missed it all - was indisposed yesterday and in the evening was the England rugby match (an awesome victory!) so… anyway I hope to do a lot of catching up in the week (only 2 rugby games, so plenty of time!) and get some results in for our team.
Well done, guys! I feel like a complete amateur when reading your AARs.
There is breakfast, morning tea, brunch (but only if you deliberately skipped breakfast and morning tea in lieu of lunch), elevenses (but only if you are a Hobbit), lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and then supper - or supper then dinner? and lastly a nightcap.
Anything else is a snack ![]()
If I didn’t have such a shitty ping I would be there… I’m lovin’ this campaign ![]()
Went out early for a run to both keep up with my health plan and to clear my head.
Last night events were realistic in that they ended up being a sequence of barely controlled chaos, followed by hasty plans made of whatever available, opportunities grasped and lost, and sudden explosions apparently out of nowhere dotted through the night.
Daddy things require my attention but later I intend supplementing @WarPig 's words of appreciation with whatever I can recollect.
Sadly I have precisely zero Screenshots. Dammit… There must be a way to automate recording of some sort…
Edit:
This sentence here can’t be stressed enough.
Last night we witnessed a true all-out attack from the AAF.
Literally all over our East /South Frontline we got attacked en masse with waves of helicopter inserted troops, APCs, and a COIN jet constantly hanging over our collective heads, wings heavily loaded with ordnance.
I can’t recall a single instance of direct or indirect attack from the jet specifically but without a doubt the ruthless dictatorship forces were out for blood, throwing their full weight on us, their aggression level reaching ‘high’ for a short while.
As @WarPig stated we absolutely pushed them back. Dishing out two punches for each one we received.
We got hammered and bloodied in our strongest points but we stood firm.
When the new dawn sun rose over the horizon it saw that the FIA forces held at least one more village than it shone upon the night before.
We depleted our bank to get all the soldier equipped as we needed… This pushes us to try and now conquer the resource point.
I introduced the basics of Operation Rapid Mustang to @WarPig and he seems to appreciate it.
Its weak point is that we need at least four humans to pull it off.
A failure would mean likely ending up completely broke.
My mouse is a gaming one for which I use a profile for ArmA 3 - I think I’ll change one of the assignments to take a screenshot, then it’s very quick & easy to do, without having to actually look at the keyboard.
btw earlier you mentioned using F12 for Steam - well that doesn’t always work for me, which is why I have a separate program to do it - though sometimes games block that, too. 6 of one, half dozen of the other.
I’ll be on this evening - 'tween 18:00 to 18:30zulu - possibly a little earlier - until around 21:00+
I got in trouble last time for talking too loudly - so have to try whisper mode this time if any of you guys can get on.
The same here!
Drives my wife crazy.
You might give it a try and see how it does. I’m averaging 150ms, which is much higher than I would normally expect to find acceptable, and having no issues. Except yesterday, playing in the hotel Discord voice comms was breaking up really badly, creating some difficulties for us.
Ping 184ms on my end today. Poor hotel internet, but I’ll give it a whirl. Arma seems a bit more forgiving in PVE than PVP.
Not gonna lie, I sort of wish we hadn’t destroyed all the towers already have; this one would sure be useful now that we own the place. Anyone aware of any way to repair buildings in antistasi?
I don’t think I can be online tonight. Or at all in the close/foreseeable future
Thanks for this.
I really enjoyed it.
Best fun i had in the longest while.
Sorry to hear it! Hope everything’s all good IRL. We’ll see you again when you can, it’s been a lot of fun. Thanks for helping put it together for us.
I’m on now, starting a ‘steal an ammo truck’ job at the soccer FARP. Going to attempt a repeat, even though we already learned that those don’t often go well. ![]()
Yeah, take care mate, shame we didn’t get to take em on together - maybe sometime with Insurgency? (remember we were going to try that - I still have it all ready to go when you are up for it - regardless how long that is
).
This afternoon I had a half hour to kill before dinner, so I thought I’d jump on and do a quick mission.
It was the steal or destroy ammo truck one again. I loaded up just a few basics, with the intent of sneaking into the AAF outpost, then jumping in the truck and motoring off ASAP.
I don’t understand exactly why - maybe it was just the law of averages, but I got spotted as I sat near the outpost in the car and with a large amount of enemy around, I’d had it.
So I respawned to have another go at the same thing - but decided not to hang around this time, just get straight on with it. All I took was a couple of 1st aid kits.
As I approached the outpost, I had an out of body experience and a “Ghost” moment as I spotted my own body laying on the ground next to the last car I’d used…
This time I wasn’t spotted as I ambled over to the ammo truck - even when I got in nothing happened - but of course as soon as I fired it up all hell was let loose.
I thought I may have at least a chance, but no - within 2 seconds I’d had it.
Okay, so a rethink was required!
the actual mission objective is to steal or destroy the ammo truck. As the first didn’t seem possible in this situation, I decided it was time to go and blow stuff up!
I desperately looked for a mortar - it would have been awesome. Looking at the map, there was a large hill overlooking the outpost site - and with the amount of enemy around that ammo truck I could have reigned hell on them. But alas, I couldn’t find any mortar - so that was out the window.
Instead I grabbed a MAAWS and a couple of rockets, put them in a pick-up, armed myself with some fightin’ kit and headed off again…
I decided to stay off the road, as I was in full guerilla kit, and took a direct cross-country route to the other side of the hill.
As soon as i got the heads-up that I was spotted I jumped out, got on my belt buckle and slithered into an overwatch position.
I’ve never used the MAAWS in ArmA3 before, so I had to guess where the rounds were going to land (unfortunately I forgot to try and set the sights - if that’s possible). I had a great line of fire…
I sent off the first message - didn’t even see where it landed, just heard the boom! and inevitably within seconds tracer rounds were sizzling passed my ear lobes!
In a defiant do-or-die act, I stood and reloaded the MAAWS and sent the final FU on it’s way - and it soared right over the top of the truck and landed on the outpost!
Time to make a tactical withdrawal.
…and live to fight another day ![]()
