Interesting - they’re doing this inside a Velodrome. There was an effort about a decade back or longer to use the 250m drome in Frisco, TX as an R/C car track, because the track racing just wasn’t generating enough revenue to keep the doors open. I wonder if that’s the same thing here - somebody’s got to pay for the a/c in those places…
I find it interesting that there are people standing so close to where the demo is occurring. Given that getting hit by that thing can cause serious injury or a fatality - I’d think there would be a bit more airspace between pilots, judges, and spectators… No doubt the guy is skilled and precise, but mechanical failures don’t care much about that…
