Thrustmaster Warthog 9 button not working

Can anyone please advise me, my Warthog stick has a faulty button - the 9 button or downward direction on the 7-10 switch?? Every other button switch etc works etc but this one whilst pulling it down doesn’t show any signs of life? ie in Windows all buttons light up the corresponding red box except this one? Any help would be really appreciated as it was a Birthday gift a few years ago and I would love to get it fully functional again. Even hints as to what the problem maybe would be appreciated. Thank you

Ok, if Windows doesn’t detect it - it’s definitely broken

Sorry, maybe I wasn’t specific enough, I typed that ALL buttons light up their corresponding red boxes EXCEPT the 9 (downward) direction on the ‘Pickle button’ I think it’s called? The game I fly in is Elite Dangerous and it’s action isn’t recognise in there, however all other buttons - like the Windows config box - do work?? Thanks for the reply

Yeah, I got it wrong… Sorry about that. No, you’re definitely having a broken button there.

Edit: reread the post. That happened to me recently. In my case it was two of the tiny pins on the grip side of the connector are shorting because they bent when I was changing grips. Hard to see, but take a photo of the pin and look for two of the pins touching. You can bend them back with an Exacto knife or something similar.

Thank you bud…i assume you mean the little circle of pins that slot in when you connect grip to the base?? Thanks bud

Exactly. My eyes weren’t good enough to see it, so snapped a photo with my phone and zoomed in. It’s a fault in their design to rely on aligning the connector with such small pins. I often switch between the Hornet and F-16 grips and have done this twice, no matter how careful.

Well if it is the switch I am thinking of it has 4 buttons in it and each one should be able to be replaced. or you can try and contact thrustmaster for the button…

Cheers bud…ill be oprning up tonight after work to have a look
…thsnk you

Yes this is from the cougar, your piece maybe different but
I am thinking it is similar… it is just a tactile switch and can be had at most electronic outlets like digikey.

Here’s mine. If memory serves, the last time the same pin bent. I’ve got a Tianhang F-16 grip ordered, which solves the problem similar to how Virpil does by allowing the grip side male connector to be pulled out of the base. So when it is being connected, there is not the whole weight of the grip on the tiny pins while trying to line them up. FWIW, I’ve never had a bent pin with the TM Hornet grip. Perhaps it has improved mating molded in to the surrounding metal.
