That’s very, very fortunate on your part.

I’ve dated a horse girl or two- that habit is more expensive than drugs.

After about two weeks printing (damn work for getting in the way of simming) and half a spool of filament…. The virpil panel 2 is fitted …and now it’s too bloody hot to put on the headset :rage:

I’m afraid I’m going to have to request more pics of the printed parts…

Basically a few blocks that were then epoxy glued together

The problem as with all printing is time… I think the longest print was the angled sections that were 40mm thick and about 140mm long, they too 9+ hours each and there are two of them

I could have really put some effort in and done a shed load of sanding but was impatient :grinning:

I would have done that so much quicker with a block of douglas fir

but the last thing I tried to build out of wood was condemed… so I leave the sharp tools to the experts  its harder to injure oneself with a 3d printer

My Moza yoke handle arrived today… so now I’m just waiting for the FFB base itself. It’s like torture! I’m hoping the base gets to me next week.

Well, my Yoke base arrived a few days ago and I’m up and running with it! So far, I like it a lot, although, much like with the AB9 stick base, you have to dial in the settings a bit, and it pays to be incremental with any profile changes, at least until you get a feel for what each parameter does.

I really like the quick release for the yoke handle, which makes it a breeze to swap to the stick, but now I’m spoiled and want a quick release for the stick grip, which I have to remove if I want to use the yoke. Has anyone heard of such a thing for a Warthog/Virpil grip? I found a quick release plate to remove the whole AB9, but that would be a pain. I’m just concerned that I could easily break the pins in the DIN connector if I’m not careful… plus the wear and tear of constantly connecting and disconnecting.

I commandeered the sliding lock plate from the AuthentiKit models and use those for my ā€œoccasionalā€ peripherals. I just print male and female versions and mount them in various spots as appropriate. They lock up pretty tight, yet can still be removed without tools or effort.

I found this in my inbox this morning.

I have kind of gone all in with Moza at this point, but I’m sure Virpil will come out with an excellent product.

I also got an email in the morning, something along the lines of ā€œyour order has been confirmedā€, no clue what that is all about  I’ve been flying with a trusty old X-56 throttle for years now. The friction has gone all bad (very inconsistent through the range of motion) but worse than that is the ghost inputs and jittering that it has. Basically, when you move the throttle it thinks all sort of random buttons are being pressed, and all the axis that it has are randomly moving up and down constantly. There’s been some fixes posted but now these aren’t working anymore. Enough justification, yes?

I was eying up the Viper TQS, which I thought was quite a creative device with all sorts of useful stuff placed on its mission quadrant thingy, and the slap switch being there is quite cool. But in reviews I couldn’t help but notice how flimsy plasticy it can be. The gear handle looks like it’ll break off just like that and people were ruining the plastic by putting the screws in. So in the end I went with the winwing orion throttle with the viperace grip for the throttle. Anyone knows how long shipment usually takes out of the eu warehouse?

When going through the site I noticed they made Airbus MCDU’s and man do they look good… Maybe one day when Fenix finishes making the A320Neo…

I found a video of some MCDU explanations where the thing has plenty of screen time.

That’s quite a lineup. I’m guessing that the AB6 will be more budget friendly than the AB9. It looks like it is designed primarily for mounting to a desk. I know the AB9 can be mounted that way too…but it’s a bulky, and heavy piece of kit.
