Time to upgrade Virpil and WinWing and MOZA, OH MY!

As flight sim enthusiasts, we really are in a golden age for hardware.

This is all a wet dream for teenage me… best of all, now I can actually afford (most of) it

Not even a week, apparently  Just got some boxes shipped and had a peek inside

Absolutely amazing. Just had to order some grippy tape while I wait for them to restock the desk mounts.

If you want, i have a pair of slightly used hornet grips for that throttle unit.

Thanks! That would be very kind of you. But considering how little time I spend with the Hornet, I think it’d be best if they end up with someone other than me

Last night I powered up my Moza yoke, and it decided to do a rapid hard turn to the left with enough force to shear the stop. I’m now waiting to hear back from Moza support. Ugh!

I have no idea why the yoke decided to do that, and I am scratching my head about the design decision to have a stop that isn’t strong enough to withstand whatever force the motor can throw at it.

I’ll keep you all updated!

I have to say, I’m quite impressed with Moza’s customer support. They asked me to send in a video of what the yoke base was doing, and I heard back from them this evening. I have to send the base back, and they will replace it with a new one. Can’t argue with that :sunglasses: .

Back at in September around my birthday the boss gave me permission to “LOOK” on the virpil web site :laughing:who can guess what happened?

I may have also “LOOKED” on the Winwing site :smiling_imp:

I am totally shocked … I ordered from winwing on the 18 of November and it arrived today
…and I didn’t get hit with any customs chargers, so they must have opened up a uk shop, but it didn’t mention that anywhere on the website…

The final part of my setup

Placed an order with Virpil in June this year.

Today it showed up.

Ooh nice!

Nice, I am happy with mine but you will definitely want to adjust the axis limiter for the collective to 30 degrees. With the ‘Apache’ grip it is a long lever.

Their stuff is very good, but they take their sweet time getting it out to you :grinning:

I looked at your control panel and noticed they have changed the layout a little…

Think they have made it more generic labels rather than aimed at the KA50

Just as well, really… I mean, you may want to use the switches for something other than the labels say, and for VR it doesn’t matter.
Plus, it may be good for them to distance their products from Russian equipment.
It’s a great controller though!

What I like about having those 10 big square pushbuttons on my Virpil throttle for is in MSFS 20&24 and XP12, assigning instrument views 1-10. I more or less match the XP12 ones to the PMDG assignments and it makes moving between sims much easier. Takes a little work on the front end, but worth it. Lately, I’ve condensed two of the pit views for the last two buttons and assign them as cabin over wing views. One of the left leading edge for an engine view and one at the right trailing edge for a flaps/spoiler view.

Great selection. That UFC will rock I bet.

Christmas in November! I’m jealous of your collective gear.

Uuuuugh! Just received an email with a special discount for the WinWing store…
I terribly want the WinWing UFC but I really really have other more pressing things to tend to…
