Titanic VR A Kickstarter project

By the same developers who made the Apollo 11 VR Experience.

Titanic has always been a special interest of mine.
I pledged to the option where I can have my name on a virtual plaque, placed near the virtual wreck…

And it’s now funded! Yay!

I picked this up today. It’s a very eerie experience exploring the wreck. I haven’t done much more than fool around with the sandbox mode. Well worth the $15 even if all want to do is explore. I haven’t found the stern section yet, but seeing the bow section emerge from the darkness sent a chill down my spine…

Out of curiosity, what state did they model the wreck in, when it was first explored in 1986, or more recently? There was a great article Dr. Ballard wrote in NatGeo a few years ago about the rapidly deteriorating state of the wreck, a lot of which is due to artifact hunters and follow - on expeditions that weren’t as careful when it came to how they treated the site.

I don’t think it’s modelled in a specific state. As such I don’t think it’s 100% rendition of how the wreck looks today, or indeed ever looked.

I thought I read that the wreck is modeled as it was in 1985. Right now the stern section is not included but will be at some point in the future (the game is in early access).
