Yep. Oculus Link is required. There are cheaper options on Amazon. But not all that claim to work, do.
Have you tried Air Link @smokinhole? I’m asking because my Oculus Quest 2 Link (anything) crapped out about a year ago and I haven’t gotten it resolved yet. I’d definitely try Virtual Desktop too but you need VD to report at least a 866 Mbps connection over a 5 GHz wifi router to get it to work.
When I got my Quest, there was a shortage of Links. And what could be found was asking $100. So, thinking it’s just a USB3 cable, I ordered one for $15 that didn’t work. Later I found another on Amazon that promised Quest2 compatibility. Turns out it worked. But that was just luck. I don’t recall the make.
I’m actually talking about a probably still experimental feature called “Air Link” … it cordlessly emulates a USB cable link, but no cord dude! You definitely need a Wifi 5 or 6 conn tho.
