Have you ever heard one of those fly over? They are literally tremendous. Flying earthquakes. I saw a german CH-53 fly over the house once, and I’ll never ever forget the deep bass whopwhop that made the entire place tremble. Superb machine.
I bet a loaded Mi-26 should be an experience as well.
They are monstrous and awesome.
One of my favourite helos.
Obligatory “we need one in dcs” post.
Also would be a hoot for air hauler 2
Hind should help scratch some of that itch at least.
I’d actually prefer a H-60. It’s so versatile. There’s regular grunt-carriers, there’s medevac, there’s special forces insertions, support and extraction, there’s naval versions. Something for everyone!

Or the hook, just because it’s different. See if we can pull this sort of -bleep- off:
I wonder if it comes with it’s peculiar odor of hydraulic fluid, oil, fuel, vomit and urine.
Fair points. I accept this as an alternative. The 3d model in game is more modern as well, so got that going for it.
In theory, it could be a drop-and-swap with the huey centric missions too; essentially anything a huey can do, it can do better.
Also, I’d be equal parts intrigued and scared to know how they’d include that odor as part of the package.

EDIT: I found the picture, along with the story, on a Dutch website, by googling for A-6 images. Here’s an English article about it: https://theaviationgeekclub.com/the-incredible-story-of-keith-gallagher-the-ka-6d-b-n-who-survived-partial-ejection-from-his-intruder/amp/
I remember reading that story. Jarring.
That B52 is one sneeze away from having a really bad day
Legendary!
It might look silly, but the idea isn’t bad!
