Lets be honest, if they auctioned off the ability to paint a given airframe with whatever the winner wanted (within limits of course), we’d probably be able to afford a few more squadrons of F-22’s here in the US.

Oh how the mighty have fallen! The direct descendent of the Clipper is Air Micronesia’s (now United) “Island Hopper”. I flew it dozens of times and there was none of that. There were plenty of betel nut-stained 300 pound islanders with scabies on their bare feet. We were permitted to ditch the tie. That’s about it.
You’d definitely need some indy studio that gets some money thrown their way by amazon or netflix for it to work.
Or have Tom Hanks in it. Perhaps then it would end up good.
