Victork2 and his ultimate folly

How does the math add up on that one or am I missing something?

Yeah… How’s that possible?
Is there a short in the trailer light plug, on the HMMWVE that taxes the generator, but is somehow solved when plugging in the trailer…?
A friend of mine had a similar issue on his Subaru, but the short was in the trailier plug. He couldn’t understand why his SUV struggled with pulling an empty trailer…

Maybe it’s the radiator fan that always kicks in when it detects a load on the trailer port to allowed better operation? Something somewhere has to make sense!

Throttle jammed shut on the way home! No idea why but luckily the humvee broke itself 200 yards from home and does 10mph on tick over. So meh. No biggie. Its either gonna be either the mounting plate bent or the cable seized. Possibly.

But could of been worse :joy:

Yep, could have been jammed open. Had that happen to me on a motorcycle once, actually a mini-bike I had as a kid. No kill switch, no/automatic/centrifical clutch.

Nothing to do but bail out. At least I wasn’t going too fast.

Ive had the same thing scary as all hell.

Im praying its just the cable… a new injection pump is pricey.

Woohoooo fixed it.

Cost to Ace £0

Throttle cable was fine. Throttle rod was fine. Thought ah ■■■■ its the pump which is about £2500 for a new one delivered and about £1500 to be fixed.

Was wiggling things around and saw a loose wobbling spring on the idle screw and a load of shiny metal at the bottom. Touched it with my finger and it was loose! Bloody thing had backed all the way out and jammed the throttle shut! Wound it back in (which was tricky in situ, can i have an arm extension for Christmas pls) and shes good as gold

I’m not gonna lie, I didn’t sleep last night. I really get wound up about my humvee. But thank god it was a super easy fix!

It was a late addition. We watched it flying towards the airfield with a groundspeed of a mighty 4…

Guy phoned me today, other buyer went to look at the M925a1 today and won’t commit to buying it until Wednesday.

I confess to being slightly irritated by this. I was first one to go see it, offered the full asking price with no haggling. Waited for the other guy to see it out of respect for the sellers wishes and now he has given the bloke till Wednesday to even commit to the sale.

I’ve done a lot of deals on vehicles in my life and this is one of the most annoying possible transactions I’ve ever dealt with.

But…i shall wait patiently and politely as even though I’m about 75 percent of the way to boiling point. It is a good bloody deal and I’m not in a hurry

I have booked the low loader to go collect it though
