Small rant about a conspiracy theory I have …

Last night I spent an out half an hour checking all three of our smoke detectors to find out which was chirping it’s low battery warning … after running up and down three flights of stairs to the three levels of the house and listening intently for the bleep (which only chips once every 90) only to find out these particular ones have a lithium rechargeable cell …whilst I am holding the the smoke detector it beeps again and I realise that it’s not coming from this one … further realisation hits, it’s the bloody carbon monoxide in the kitchen beeping and that is a sealed unit with no replaceable batteries…

Now back to the conspiracy theory… I believe that there are either light sensors or a clock in these detectors … because they never start a low battery warning during the daytime … it’s always as it was last night, at about 1.45 in the morning :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Truth GIF

(Wish I could like that about 1000 times. I’ve NEVER had one start beeping during a convenient time, like the day, or a night when I don’t have an 0400 wakeup the next morning, or when I don’t have a sick infant who finally just went to sleep.)

I mean…if I were designing alarms like these, that’s exactly what I’d do.

The lower the temperature, the less voltage these batteries have.

So yeah, a slowly depleting battery will always be exhausted when it’s the coldest time of the day. Which usually is at night/early morning.

We‘ve yet to see a plane flatten the earth. It‘s usually the other way around.

While I agree in general, I’m fairly certain I have flattened the earth a little, occasionally…

I don’t like to brag but given the size of my mother in law- she’s flattening the earth like nobody’s business.

You kid, but often when people (such as my wife) complain about my weight I tell ’ em to stfu because my belly is a company asset. Sometimes it just isn’t practical to haul in this machine, and I use my feet…

What do you call that machine @schurem. Because its one of the few things in this world where the English way of saying it is the funniest.
