- so the average is one and one.
So 68 is the average between two other numbers:
- one bigger, funny for some people
- one smaller funnier for some other people.

If you have a hundred people and half of them are women, how many of them have balls? Let’s assume they are all healthy, so the total number of balls among them would be a hundred, right? So if you average it out, there’s one ball per person.
Some people find 6 7 funny, others 69. So on average 68 is funny.
As for why the kids find 6 7 funny, they don’t understand it either, they just do. And our puzzlement at it just adds to the fun.

I thought it was an arithmatic reference. 1 is 1 less than 2 and 68 is one less than 69 which some people find funny… Mostly Viz magazine subscribers
